> 24 hourI just got this today and installed them today so I cant speak to the durability, but I was very pleased as soon as I got them out of the box. I like the idea of the slide-over mechanism versus outlet plugs because even if your kiddo unplugs something, they cant try to plug it back in, or try to put something else (small, metal) in there. Obviously the same goes for someone that removes an outlet cover and forgets to put it back in (other kids, visitors that dont have small kiddos, etc.). I really like that they came with the foam backing (insulation), which I read (in another review) is supposed to help with drafts. I also appreciate that it came with longer screws as the covers themselves stick out a little from the wall and need that little extra length of the screw to be secure. (I read in 1 review that these are supposed to go over existing outlet covers; that isnt the case. You need to completely remove the current ones and put these on. I also read that they didnt come with longer screws - mine did.) The covers are tough to slide over using your finger, which is exactly what you want these to do. I came back to Amazon to order more tonight, but when I saw some of the negative reviews about things coming unplugged or things that working right because it couldnt get a solid connection, I decided to try these out for awhile since my son isnt crawling yet then come back and give an update. But so far they seem well-made and priced well. Yes, theyre a little more expensive than others, but you can tell they are well-made and its worth paying an extra $0.50-$0.75 to help keep my son safe.

> 24 hourThese are a very well built quality product. They are not thin and cheaply built. They installed quite easily and quickly with the supplied screws and are super simple to use. I tried those cheap plastic things that just plug into the hole, but I dont have a good grip in my fingers and required a screw driver to pry them out whenever I went to plug something in. These are wonderfully simple to use. Use the plug end to slide the cover to the right and push the plug into place. Done. It automatically closes when the plug is removed. Perfect. It didnt hurt that they were white and I have white walls. I am going to need more of these.

> 24 hourI would like them to be slightly bigger but they cover nicely anyway. They are as big as the ones I took off. They are very easy to install. I did 18 of them in less than 15 minutes. Its nice not to have to call an electrician to do the hardwired kind to childproof our house for our granddaughter. More colors would also be a good thing. Ive ordered 18 more.

> 24 hourGreat product. Easy to install in place of existing outlets. Not too stiff that it’s difficult to use the plug. Will be just as easy to replace with old outlet covers when no longer needed. Great price for the value!

> 24 hourBecause these outlets add distance between the plug and the socket it makes the connection very unstable. For example if the plug leans out of the socket even a tiny bit it often completely stops receiving power. Some sockets in our house just don’t work with any plug when these covers are on them. Other sockets don’t line up with these covers so plugs don’t even go into them at all. Wish they made a thinner version that didn’t create so much distance and instability to the actual power source.

> 24 hourThey look good and went on easily. Definitely not easy enough for my little one to open. Fingers crossed there’s no melting like other people experienced

> 24 hourDue to the thickness caused by having the plate that slides over the plugs, when you plug in a cord it is not really 100% inserted into the socket anymore. Yes, it is pushed in completely and there is no gap. But these covers act like a small pacer. So cords are not fully retained and come out easier. This is mostly a problem for vacuuming. The cord will sometimes come unplugged.

> 24 hourThis product is horrible, yes it covers the outlet like it should but then you literally cant plug anything into the outlet. It makes the plug so loose that anytime you plug anything in within 2 seconds its popped out and on the floor not charging. Id rather have the annoying old fashion plastic baby outlet covers that are impossible to get off then this because once those are off atleast you have a usable outlet!

> 24 hourSo far these seem to be working well for my 20 month old. With the plastic plugs we stuck in the outlets, he would remove them and bring them to me. Kind of defeated the purpose. These work great. He is unable to figure them out. Lets hope it stays that way!

> 24 hourI use these all throughout the house in places that the baby can reach and where we don’t have anything plugged in all the time. I have had something plugged in them all the time and it does heat up and it could have melted the cover (like other reviewers mention). Therefore, I only use these on UNUSED outlets. Otherwise, you can buy the Universal Power Outlet Cover Box that covers the plugged item. I also buy OutSmart Outlet Shields for unused outlets in baby’s bedroom and playroom area.
