Greater than one weekWe went through and replaced every outlet in our house with these because we have twin two-year-old boys and the traditional outlet protectors were just getting pulled out and lost. I cant believe these have so many positive reviews. While they do look nice and keep my childrens fingers out of the outlets, the spring mechanism is too strong and pushes things out of the outlet when they are plugged in. Half of my outlets wont hold a cord anymore bc the trap door pushes on the prongs so much that they fall out. I will now have to go through and replace all the outlets again. So frustrating. I do not recommend.

> 3 daySafest thing I’ve used by far. Even my home inspector was really impressed with them and said they’re the safest he’s seen. We’ve had them installed in two separate homes and would recommend them to anyone.

> 3 dayThese do not allow items to be plugged in even by adults and from other reviews I would say doing so would be a FIRE HAZARD. However, since I bought these for outlets I don’t intend to use, it’s actually exactly what we needed! I even installed them upside down for good measure in case he decided to slide the panels. The holes no longer line up with anything but solid plastic. My toddler recently figured out that he could pull our original covers away from the wall and even managed to snap one! These covers are extremely sturdy, CANNOT be manipulated away from the wall... and don’t even require safety plugs, which he sometimes pulled out of the original plates anyway.

> 3 dayWe love these! Only flaw is that on some outlets, they stick out too much for you to plug something in. If you dont have a super old house like ours, youll be great!

> 3 dayThese work really well. They are tight against the wall and the plugs stay in. No complaints here except maybe that the paint on the screw gets nicked easily but that can be fixed with a little white paint. I would like to add that if you are covering old outlets, from the 80s or even the 90s, the plugs might not stay plugged in very well. This is not because of the outlet covers, rather its the old outlets that dont hold the plugs very well. In my house we replaced most of the old outlets with new ones and so these outlet covers hold the plugs very well. We have one outlet that is old that we put the cover on and it doesnt hold a plug very well at all.

> 3 dayMy grandson, who is 2-1/2, has not discovered how to plug something into these outlet covers. And, if he pulls a cord out, the outlet automatically closes and prevents him from replugging the cord. I bought a bunch for my own house.

> 3 daySo my son figured out how to unplug things from sockets. Yes, we have the nifty socket inserts for ones you arent using, and hes left those alone so far. But Im talking cords, night lights, etc. Of course, cords have all since been hidden. But how do you lock in a night light or similar things that the baby loves to unplug, yet needs to stay plugged in? We havent come up with a solution that isnt gluing the item to the wall, but these are the next best thing. When he finds something he loves to unplug, it shuts safely afterward so he cant get a finger in the newly opened socket. Super easy to install. I appreciate the longer screws it comes with, since this item is thicker than a regular socket plate. Definitely recommend!

> 3 dayThis product is horrible, yes it covers the outlet like it should but then you literally cant plug anything into the outlet. It makes the plug so loose that anytime you plug anything in within 2 seconds its popped out and on the floor not charging. Id rather have the annoying old fashion plastic baby outlet covers that are impossible to get off then this because once those are off atleast you have a usable outlet!

> 3 dayBut these when I repainted my toddler’s room. They are perfect to keep her safe. Work as expected and are as easy to install as normal outlet covers. Absolutely worth buying.

Greater than one weekI like these outlet covers except for how far they sit off the wall. The prongs of a plug won’t always reach as far as expected into the outlet. One of my lamp’s plug won’t go far enough in and so I can’t use it in the outlet anymore. But they keep my LO from sticking fingers etc into the outlet so I can deal.
