So nice to find this part for our beloved family wii machine that stopped working. Our grandkids are happy to have it back playing their favorite games.

Did exactly as it said: reads Wii games only, which is exactly what I needed it for. I can finally play modded Brawl and Mario Kart Wii again.

Make sure you buy/have a Tri Wing screwdriver! Or you won’t get this installed. We bought a Tri Wing bit set then we attached it to our multi bit screwdriver but then the combo itself was too big to fit in the holes of the Wii console. We went everywhere locally to find a Tri Wing screwdriver and there were none. So we had to modify the Tri Wing Bit to fit into the Wii console and multi bit screwdriver. Do yourself a favor and just buy the Tri Wing screwdriver when you purchase the new Wii drive!

Good value to replace the broken drive on the Wii. Works well and not too difficult to install

The original drive on my Wii stopped working (clicking sounds and error messages on tv screen). This replacement took about 20 minutes. Might be better off with your own repair tools but what they provide is good for one time usage.

My disc drive on my wii stopped working and was making clicking noises. I did some utube searches to trouble shoot and they all led to the laser that reads the disc. It costs the same and was much easier to replace the whole drive with this replacement drive. It came with all of the special tools needed and took about 20 minutes to replace.

Installed and working within 15 minutes. The disc drive in my wii was not reading the discs anymore, swapped it for this one from Amazon, and my son was playing games immediately. Received it very fast too!

Took about half an hour to install and seemed to fix my problem. Drive was much quieter than the broken one I was replacing. I was afraid that after so many years of use, my Wii was going to be dead, but this drive brought it back to life.

Wii works now. The first drive didnt work. It was easily returned and quickly replaced. The second drive fixed the problem. The tri wing screwdriver is handy.

When I realized that a drive failure was the cause of our old Wiis not working, I was excited to find that replacing with this new drive made the Wiis work again, good as new! Installation was a bit tedious but not too difficult... found good step-by-step instructions online and did the job in about 15 minutes.
