Years ago the disc drive in our Wii stopped working. I took it apart and got it working again, but it was very noisy. Recently my kids found the Wii and wanted to play it, and while it worked it was super noisy. I found this replacement drive and installed it. Super simple and it worked like a charm. Now the Wii reads discs and it is quiet again. It is like a brand new Wii console!

At first I thought this is too good to be true.. But it really works. Our original Wii is ancient. It stopped playing discs over a year ago. Since then I have been looking to replace it. Use YouTube to learn how to open the Wii console and diagnose problems with your Wii before buying. A helical gear was cracked on the Wii disc drive; therefore, this fixed the problem. This will not fix laser problems.
