> 3 dayI was trying to find a specific sprocket part that was causing my old one to make a bad noise and not eject the disc properly. Well I found out replacing the whole DVD drive was going to be just the same cost if not cheaper, so I ordered this. It was a simple plug it in, screw the Wii back together and it worked as good as new. Very happy with the product.

> 3 dayDid exactly as it said: reads Wii games only, which is exactly what I needed it for. I can finally play modded Brawl and Mario Kart Wii again.

> 3 dayMy disc drive on my wii stopped working and was making clicking noises. I did some utube searches to trouble shoot and they all led to the laser that reads the disc. It costs the same and was much easier to replace the whole drive with this replacement drive. It came with all of the special tools needed and took about 20 minutes to replace.

15-04-2025I am a happy camper! Because I refuse to go back to the gym during these times, I dusted off my Wii but my game discs kept ejecting from my 11 year old console. Disheartened, I researched and decided to take a chance and ordered the replacement drive. A friend installed and it worked! Now I can do Zumba, play volleyball and tennis in my family room! Yea!

> 3 dayI ordered the special Y screwdrivers and my teen daughter switched it out in 20-30 minutes. Works great had it about a month and played several times.

> 3 dayThis item replaced the DVD drive on my old wii. I pulled up instructions on ifixit and went through the process. The included tools are helpful but low in quality. The spludger was pretty much destroyed at the end. Two comments in the instructions are helpful. First, the included tri screw driver needs to be filed down because the point is too sharp to engage the screws on the unit. Secondly use needle nose pliers to disconnect the faceplate, not tweezers because you risk cutting the wires. It took a little longer than I expected but the outcome was great.

> 3 dayCheap and easy way to keep your old Wii working - the optical drive is the most obvious component to fail. This is the second time Ive had to replace one. Not exactly easy to disassemble a Wii to do the replacement , but thats not the fault of this product here.

> 3 dayUse YouTube to learn how to open the Wii console and diagnose problems with your Wii before buying. A helical gear was cracked on the Wii disc drive; therefore, this fixed the problem. This will not fix laser problems.

> 3 dayFor years the Wii stopped working. I read about replacing the DVD drive would fix the none active Wii and it did. Now the family is back bowling and golfing at home, lol. You tube video helped with the installation. Also purchase the special screwdriver needed for the Wii, this will make it easier. Thank you
