I found an install video which made it easy. Just make sure you have the right tools first. It worked perfectly. I am very happy with the price as well.

The product may have been ok but had no directions. I bought the suggested tool set to work with the drive. Looked at hours of YouTube videos to get a sense of what was needed Tried everything suggested- didn’t work. Honey tried - didn’t work. Brother tried - didn’t work. Ended up getting a new WII.

I got this today and had it installed in my sons Wii in about 30 min give or take. The wii was giving a cant read disk error code . Swapped out the drive with this one and we are back in business. If you are even a little bit handy you can get this done. Watch a couple YouTube videos and get after it . Oh and if you dont have tri wing screwdriver set you will need to get one . I got mine right here on Amazon set of 5 for like 8 dollars.

My 2006 WII stopped reading disc the other day. this was able to get it working again. Install wasnt too bad, lots of little screws with a few of them under the feet or little stickers. keep track of where they go and it should back together easy.

Replaced the Wii drive that was not loading the disc and making grinding noises. This one so far is working great. Kids are playing the games we have had for years. The install was easy by just watching a video on YouTube. Easy and straight forward took about 30mins.

The tools that came with are cheaply made and would not loosen my Tri wing screws, (Tri wing screw drivers are not easy to find and alot of people have not heard of them). I had to Wiis that needed repairing and the main one I needed fixing, was not able to be done as I could not loosen the screws. So I tried on box #2 I switched everything out and still have the same issues. Still waiting on Tri wing screwdriver to take the first box apart to switch out, but I’m s currently ready to just remove and return. Had to watch a few YouTube videos to figure out how to change this.

I am a happy camper! Because I refuse to go back to the gym during these times, I dusted off my Wii but my game discs kept ejecting from my 11 year old console. Disheartened, I researched and decided to take a chance and ordered the replacement drive. A friend installed and it worked! Now I can do Zumba, play volleyball and tennis in my family room! Yea!

For years the Wii stopped working. I read about replacing the DVD drive would fix the none active Wii and it did. Now the family is back bowling and golfing at home, lol. You tube video helped with the installation. Also purchase the special screwdriver needed for the Wii, this will make it easier. Thank you

This was literally the last and final attempt I was going to make to fix our Wii. We got the new drive quickly, it was just as describes and worked like a charm. We are so grateful to be able to play Wii again and I’m happy to have my yoga program back at home. Not only did it work but it was the cheapest option we could do before buying a refurb unit. Thanks!

Quick fix. Tried replacing optical lens first. This drive replacement was quick and easy and solved the problem.
