Sleek and modern with a large 1080p screen, this is a great choice for watching movies, running office apps, or games that are not GPU/CPU demanding. Its obvious a lot of thought went into the details. The USB ports can be used for charging, theres one USB 2, two USB 3.1 and one USB C 3.1 port. Wired and wireless networking (using the newest ac wireless standard), fingerprint reader, large touchpad, full sized keyboard AND a numeric keyboard.

Ive had this laptop for 5 months when the keyboard stopped working. Had to ship to Manufacture to repair under warranty (I have to pay for shipping). Got the laptop back 2-3 weeks later. It worked for 2 weeks and now, Laptop wont even turn on! Need to call manufacturer AGAIN! and probably not have it for another 2-3 weeks! And pay for shipping again. Not a happy customer.

I bought this model A515-54-51DJ (received Dec. 20) to future proof my 3-year old Acer Aspire E 15 which has served me very well and still is. This “Slim” model has an IPS screen, which is an improvement. It does not have a DVD drive like the old E 15. It also does not have an SD card reader. My use is only for non-gaming and for very light graphics.

Its an okay laptop not a big deal. I made the mistake of asking my brother in law for advice on purchasing a laptop. He is a computer wizard so i thought hey he would probably know what a good pc is. So he suggested this one. I should of gone with a 512gb I have 20gb left of memory. The fan is so loud, but i searched on youtube on how to get rid of the noise. Did what they suggested and i have no more annoying fan noise. It is thin and flimsy. I have an issue with all the usb ports they dont read the usbs and i have to be moving them around. Also when I plug in the power cord i have to mess with or wiggle it around or else it wont charge. There are better laptops. this will work for basic internet use and pc use.

I ordered this laptop because I needed a reliable laptop for a reasonable price. This laptop was perfect for just that. The screen quality is excellent, and the keyboard quality is durable and nice. Its pretty light weight to carry. I love the option of having a fingerprint password. Makes it quick to Log onto the computer multiple times at school. Also, ITS FASTT!!!

So, this computer is great. Then I wanted to upgrade it and found inside the one chip was installed incorrectly breaking a small connector and made it impossible for an additional drive. Then as you can see from the picture, there is clearly only one ram slot when all the literature as well as the computer settings say there are two slots. So I ordered the wrong DD4r memory. Lucky I didnt really need to upgrade it and also lucky I could send back the SSD and the Ram to amazon for free. Wish it was still under warranty, so I could get that connector fixed.

So I got this computer three months ago. It has operated as expected of a 500 dollar laptop. It takes notes well, has a nice hard drive and has a good screen quality.

Good, decent laptop for its cheap price. Yes the fans are pretty loud (in fact, its louder than my gaming laptop) but this can be fixed by making the system cooling policy as passive in the battery settings (google about this if you want details). Other than the fan issue though, its a good laptop.

Screen is ok. Speed is good for the price. All-in-all it is great for the price but some people who want it for more than just surfing the web and a little bit of photo editing are going to be disappointed. The SSD means its a very fast on bootup and writes very quickly, but the processor isnt meant for much more than general use. Example: transcoding on plex is a challenge for the laptop. Even with that, I am very very happy with this laptop. My only legitimate complaint is the screen isnt as good as I would hope. But its fine. Would not recommend for gaming, complex editing, or rendering.
