Could not install apps from the play store

I am heartbroken and furious right now. Shortly after receiving this Acer Chromebook, I inserted a USB drive into the USB port/hub to view my daughters baby photos with her. First of all the USB port is extremely stiff and it takes a bit of pressure to insert a USB disk into it, much more difficult than I am used to. After inserting the flash drive, the Chromebook gave a notification like Woah, be careful or something like that. I thought that this was strange. After closing out and ejecting drive, very similar to Windows but never with these issues, I reinserted the USB drive again to show my daughter more of her baby pictures and to our shock, they were all completely gone. Every file and image was removed as well as our tax returns with Social Security numbers. We are so sad right now as we try to fix this. We have not had any luck so far. My husband just purchased this Acer Chromebook for me less than 2 weeks ago. We always kept our photos and important files on a USB drive and we never ran into problems like this with Microsoft Windows XP, 7, 8 and 10. We would simply close out the window, safely eject the usb drive and reinsert it back into the hub later. In this case, this system never presented me with a startup tutorial or a How To Guide like Microsoft always did so I was never able to backup any files because I didnt know how.

This Acer Chromebook Spin is awesome. I love technology and chrome books are so much fun to play with. This one would be great for work, school, or just browsing/playing games. It easily turns in to tablet and tent mode, making watching movies a breeze. Its made from durable plastic and seems super sturdy. Small and light, this will fit in any backpack, bag, or briefcase.

I am highly impressed with the Build quality of the Acer Chromebook Spin 311, It does everything I was expecting it to do like Web Browsing, Email, Youtube, entertainment, longer battery life, quick turn on or turn off, etc. tasks extremely well, and at this price point, This is definitely a winner with an added bonus of a Touchscreen, Its easy to carry with all necessary Ports you need and more. This feedback is from an IT professional with 20+ years of experience in computers. I have Apple MacBook Pro and HP Z Book for development work that requires heavy processing power. Poor quality touch screen is slow and 2 weeks later it wouldn’t even charge this was a Christmas present I haven’t gotten my return I can’t event get in contact with them I have my tracking number and everything and no money back

Learn from our mistake and dont waste your money! We purchased this product in mid-December. Not even two months later, it completely died -- wouldnt boot up, wouldnt charge. We sent it back to Acer for repair, since it was under warranty. They had to replace the motherboard. They sent it back, and it worked...for four hours. Then died again. Acer now wants us to send it back again for another repair and refuse to issue another device or a credit. Well see what Amazon might be willing to do, but in the meantime -- please do yourself a favor and dont buy an Acer.

Great chromebook with a great price

ive really become a fan of ASUS lately, and needed to get a replacement chromebook for my kids to replace an aging Samsung one we had. I wanted something that would last, and was powerful enough to run some more demanding apps (i.e. crossover).

The hardware form factor for this convertible is excellent. Unfortunately, if you are familiar with the Windows OS, youre going to HATE the Chrome operating system and quickly run into its application limitations. This could be a good choice for students whose school has standardized Chromebooks or someone on a budget that doesnt allow for a Windows convertible like the amazing Lenovo Yoga. This gift was sold As New shortly after purchase.

I just love this. it is the perfect size for surfing while on the couch.
