> 3 dayI have no idea why this computer is so laggy. I have a computer that I replaced this with that was 5 years older smaller video card and CPU, and it outperforms this. it feels like they may have used a cheap motherboard because it is not performing according to the specs. there are constant delays in mouse movement, dragging windows etc., and its constantly making noises like its struggling to work. i have less programs than my previous machine and have not downloaded much to the computer so the slowness should not be happening. The color is nice, and it looks cool, but its really not performing as one would expect. they also plugged the cords in, blocking the logo on the inside. overall the machine feels completely rushed and does not perform the way it should for the price. Ive had laptops that work better.

> 3 dayNot sure what the deal was, but this PC had a corrupted Windows installation right off the bat. It would give blue screen after blue screen when attempting to boot into Windows. Fortunately, I was able to factory reset the Windows installation via the Alienware image in OS recovery. After that, everything has been working wonderfully. Hell of a deal on Prime Day, too; about $1k off the usual list price.

> 3 dayOne star currently for having a hardware issue one day after using it for about 2 hours. It was awesome when it worked. Waiting to see if dell will send the replacement parts. EDIT: After attempting to work with Dell over a repair, I ended up just buying a new SSD and installing it myself. Runs fantastic now but no excuse for lazy QC to let that slide from the factory.

> 3 dayBeautiful design and gaming features galore - and problems started the first day. The most irritating was Windows wouldnt always load. Id get the error message: Recovery, it looks like Windows didnt load correctly. Tried startup repair, got the message Startup repair couldnt repair your PC. In addition it would randomly power up for a few seconds in sleep mode, then power down again. It also wouldnt restart when updating drivers, and when gaming would freeze occasionally. I liked the PC so I spent an hour on the phone with Dell support. Checked multiple solutions, then had me do a system reset. If that didnt work (which it didnt), he wanted me to buy a 16gig USB stick, do a complete wipe, and download from the internet. I didnt spend that kind of money to also have to spend additional time and money on trying to make it work properly - sent it back.

Greater than one weekAs im writing this review I’m in my 2nd machine. The first one I bought decided to update on its own and kept updating for over 10 hours. Finally I restarted the machine and all the lights started to blink and I had to troubleshoot just to get it to turn on again. Then for the next week every time I’d turn on the machine I would get a “no signal” on my monitor and a black screen. More manual restarting and mashing buttons to try and get the thing to work. I returned that machine and got a replacement, and this one does the exact same thing lol. It’s shocking how bad these Alienware’s are. I will be returning this machine as well and hopefully finding something more reliable.

> 3 dayEasy to setup and use. Only thing from DELL that actually works as promised. (They acquired alienware and didnt design it inhouse).

> 3 dayI bought this R14 box NOT because I wanted it for gaming, although it does that VERY well, but primarily because I needed it for post processing of large photo images. A system I built for myself sometime ago died an ugly death and I decided to buy a system rather than build one, especially since parts arent easy to get. Ive used Linux (OpenSuse) rather than MickySoft for years, and tried to install that replacing the Bloze 11 that was on the R14. OpenSuse didnt like the Ethernet card that is in the R14 so I installed Ubuntu with a bunch of add-ons. Ubuntu doesnt like to play with the Ethernet well either however, I was able to add my wireless modem. The R14 is not only very fast on the Net, but EXTREMELY quick in handling large photos, which I keep in the tiff format using The Gimp. My only complaint is that theres no way to control (read that change) the LEDS on/in the R14 as Dell didnt put that in firmware but software and there isnt a Linux app. to do that.

> 3 dayI e been an Intel user for my entire PC life but couldn’t afford the bump from $3000 to $5000 for the Ryzan 9 box to be an Intel I9 box even with the higher end Nvidia RTx
