Greater than one weekWell, Im bummed. I read some of the reviews about these lights and noticed the listing said that, due to complaints, they have upgraded the adhesive to 3M VHB Foam Back Tape instead of the red stuff you see in the images. Well, I ordered three of these for a project to light the interiors of some garage cabinets, got everything installed and working, and the next day opened up the cabinets to find them falling off everywhere. I keep a roll of super-sticky double-sided tape that I used to strategically place better adhesive on top of the products adhesive and now they are holding up. Lights work great otherwise. Just disappointed about the adhesive.

> 3 dayWorks as describes. Bright. Mounted under our 5th wheel and wired to the step light. Must wire positive and negative wires correctly to work. Power wires are not reversible like an old bulb set-up.

> 3 dayGreat lights. I added them on the outside of the gunnel on my boat. They light up the top of the water very bright at night. These lights have a very good sticky foam tape strip on them but it is not a 3m strip as advertised. 3m tape come with 3m red plastic backing and this does not have. That being said, the tape they use still is very good.

> 3 dayGreat product. Super bright LEDs and easy to install. I didnt like the adhesive tape that comes on these, as it peeled off when just trying to remove the backing, so I used the 3M auto-adhesive tape and it works great. Installed the lights under the gunnels on my bay boat and looks great!

> 3 dayEdit 1, 2/13/20 ; removing backing is extremely difficult, the best method I found was to take a razor blade somwhere middle of a strip, NOT AT AN EDGE!, and try to find a magic spot that will peel up the red liner/backing only , tedious and hit n miss, but succesful so far. if you try this at the end of a strip, it will probably just separate the black stikem pad and ruin the strip, as far as sticking to something goes. My guess is that his run or the entire product selection is from 10 or 15 year old stock, as the sticky substance has leached into the red backing plastic and all has tried to become one. I had to take off two stars , especially since the vendor must know what he has here, I dont see how this could be some suprise to them.. ======= Inititial review: I hope these hold up, will report back later, very impressed. I have a cheap lense that I tried Daylight (DW SMDs) , all I got was kind of pinkish light, mocked these up real quick, and wow!! I can use the DW to light up the motor on my bike, reds will be used on my after market tour pack, took off the original as it is quite a lot of weight, and dont need that much storage.. > 3 dayI installed these lights in 4 foot sections to clean, new aluminum. Just to be sure it was clean, I cleaned it again with rubbing alcohol. As I was installing the fourth strip, the first strip was already starting to fall off!!! It didn’t even last 15 minutes! By the next day, without even turning the lights on, all the strips had at least half of the strip detached. Three had completely fallen off. (I had also purchased a different brand of light with 3M adhesive strips, there was no adhesive problem with those lights.) I’m satisfied with these lights, but I’ll have to remove the adhesive strip and replace them with something that will actually stick! If I hadn’t already done all the setup and soldering, I would just throw them out and start over with a better brand! Update: I peeled the adhesive backing - it came off quite easily. I replaced it with “3M (38583 1/4 x 15 Exterior Attachment Tape” 1/4 inch width (from Amazon). It’s been up for a week with no signs of loosening at all. It took just over one package to do the whole string. Of course this adds about $10 to the cost of the lights, but at least they’re usable now! So, since I have plans to purchase additional strings, now I’m much more cautious about what type of adhesive is used. I will not rely on the “it’s strong” description, I’ll check the pictures looking for the red adhesive strip marked with “3M”. While I’m sure there’s probably other brands that work, I’m not going to waste my time and money to run the experiment. (I’m not receiving anything from 3M lol, I’m just happy I found something reliable!)

11-06-2025These lights deliver. They actually have what appears to be genuine 3M tape . They stay in place and they are bright.

> 3 dayThese LEDs are great and just what I wanted. I installed 5 rolls under my 40 5th Wheel for some under-glow lighting and they look awesome. The adhesive seems to be holding up really well, I installed these in April and have pulled the camper about 500 miles since then without issue. Cleaned the frame with brake cleaner before installing. Having wires at both ends is great for short runs where you need two pieces. I will let the pics speak for the product.
