Absolutely love this compressor, I mounted under my seat to avoid the heat of the engine to hopefully prolong its life.

Been using it about 16 months now and it has begun to squeal like a pig, I am talking with ARB USA now. Lets see how this turns out Update #1 They are requesting that I ship it to them (at my expense) Will let you know what that cost? Update #2 Finally got around to sending it back , $18.75 to ship it via USPS Flat Rate Large box. Sent it on the May 17th. , they got it on the May 19th. Update #3 I just heard from them yesterday. even though they couldnt replicate the problem (Screeching when cold) , they are replacing the unit with a new one anyway (+1 for customer service) Update 4. The new one doesnt t like the cold either, but out of warranty now.

Works great , installed as an Air up compressor on my 2019 Jeep JLU Rubicon , Had to repurpose a bracket from a rear tire carrier light bracket due to ARB hasn’t made anything for the new Jeeps , had to extend Hot wire to reach the battery as well as the red wire from the harness to my accessories switch under the glove box , took a couple hrs , but all in all I’m really pleased how it came out . Hope this review helps .

While the compressor is good to go (5 stars) shipping and quality checks need improvement. I had three units shipped to me before i received one that wasnt broken or missing pieces. The original shipment I received clearly had returned hand written on the box from the previous customer. Im still waiting on my refund nearly three weeks later.

I have a 1998 Cherokee that has had an air locker of some sort since about 2000. For many years I had a Quick Air II compressor which served me well but not perfectly. I had several issues with it over the years. It finally quit completely about 6 years ago. After that I installed an on-board air compressor driven by the engine. This too turned out to have issues and I abandoned it. After that I returned to an electric compressor and bought a small Harbor Freight compressor just to run the lockers (all of my other setups were used for airing up and the lockers.) The Harbor Freight compressor turned out to be nothing but problems. Obviously you get what you pay for. The first one broke the pin on the crankshaft. I modified the compressor to use a bolt in the crankshaft and that fixed the problem. Then I had problems with it over heating. Finally one of the reed valves on the piston broke. I mention all of this to highlight all of the problems Ive had over the years with something that is dead simple. I finally decided to quit messing around with junk and go with a compressor made by a company who specializes in air lockers and also has years of experience and a great reputation. Looking at the price of this tiny little guy I though it was very pricey for what I was getting. At the end of the day though, Ive spent much more on unreliable and frustrating solutions. One major benefit, in addition to quality and reliability, is the fact that it is already set up to accommodate two solenoids and a pressure switch. I also believe you can get an air up kit for it if youd like. I decided not to run an air gauge as I didnt feel I need one but I believe it will also accommodate one if you would like. In addition it includes wiring harnesses to connect everything. I cannot comment on whether they worked or not because everything was already wired by me from my past setups so there was no need to read invent the wheel. One thing Id like to say is I dont think I would recommend the air up kit for this compressor. Not to use for airing up tires any way. If you were to use it for airing up balls and small items, maybe, otherwise get a larger portable compressor for airing up. Harbor Freight does make a larger portable compressor that looks suspiciously like a Viair and works quite well. All of this said, this is a great little compressor for running your air lockers. It airs up quickly and has plenty of capacity for this job. It is very compact which makes finding a place to mount it that much easier. After years of messing around with my air source on every wheeling trip it was nice to have a system that just plain worked and needed zero intervention! The price for this little guy may seem a bit high but in reality it is worth every penny.

First, if I could give it 6 stars, I would. Before the nitty gritty details get fleshed out, you will love this compressor. Set up: it is very important to spend time to choose a location in/on your vehicle that is cool and within your skill set. If you choose the rear of your vehicle you will need large Guage battery wire to add onto the supplied wire (which is more than long enough for installation in the engine bay). If you choose to run the switch into your dash you will need to prepare, find two connections (an ignition source and power source). This means you need to have adequate skills to run wires through the firewall, find and splice wires, and cut an opening to mount the switch. Do yourself a favor: be prepared with a plan before you begin installation. Connections: I chose to keep the switch and all components in the engine bay, as seen in the picture. That said, Jeeps have gigantic engine bays. I used a fuse add a circuit. It cost $10 at Autozone and it took about 3 minutes to connect. I would recommend the same approach if you choose to install into the dash, it is that easy. Mechanical connections; it comes with all you need to set up but you will to buy the specific pieces you need for your setup (again, PLAN ahead). Use: I have 31 tires. It took me longer to let air out than the compressor did to inflate them. I aired down to 10psi then inflated to 45psi, it was done in about 10 minutes. Get yourself a Guage pressure tool and you will cut at least 1 minute off. In that ten minutes the compressor reached a few hundred degrees ( I know because I accidently touched it, big dummy). So, again, find a cool and open location. I am seriously amazed. The finished installation runs around $300, depending on your custom setup. For an inexpensive option this tool is well built and performs its given function quite well. I want one for each of my other vehicles. Buy it, NOW.

The compressor arrived super quick, but the toggle switch was damaged in transport. I contacted the seller who was VERY quick to respond, and continued to respond quickly during all of our correspondence. They were very courteous and contacted the distributor on my behalf and had a new switch to me NEXT DAY. I was relieved that I didn’t have to deal with weeks of an exchange process and was able to finish up the compressor installation. The compressor, and all related components are very high quality. Installation was a breeze, and the harness leading from the battery to the compressor, and from the compressor to the cab was the perfect length. The amount of lead provided into the cab is sufficient enough to allow for switch installation anywhere a driver could reach. The bracket used is the EVO 1097 compressor mount.

Absolutely needed for all Overlanding adventures. I have taken the ARB system beyond what they recommend and it keeps on giving. I 1000% recommend for all wheelers!

Its ARB.... What do you expect? Fit great on the engine cover mount in my JL, wired to my RC ML6 switch bank, and extended the hose. Super happy!
