Outstanding case for RPi 4. - Passive (using case top) AND active (fan) cooling. - Power button program provides reset, restart, soft, and hard shutdown modes. - Daughter card puts ALL connections out the back. Indeed for looks and locatability - this makes it real - Nice magnetic lid over the GPIO pins. Accessible when needed (noting fan and power use a couple of them. - SDCARD access is maintained. Easily loaded scripts automatically configure reasonable cooling and fan control as well as power button modes. Dont forget to investigate re-clocking the SDCARD interface. Remember its clocked for Class 10 card - so at 50 mhz. If you use UHS-1 (at least) SDCARDS then theyre certified for 100 mhz so you can re-clock the SDCARD interface to 100 mhz for far faster local disk.

This is simply a great case. Nothing disappoints. Fan control works as well as the power button using the provided script. Now they need to come out with a case that can house a SSD or M.2.

Im so impressed with the quality and effectiveness. The passive cooling works extremely well, even better if you use some thermal paste instead of the included thermal sticky pads. With the m.2 option installed, this case is unbeatable for a single Raspberry Pi deployment. Is it overkill? Maybe, but its really really cool.

Great case - well made - easy to assemble - easy fit. Nice to have the power switch available. Stays so cool the fan doesnt come on.

I have two 4Bs with 8GB. I bought the first one in a kit from another well-regarded vendor, but it wouldnt boot reliably, and then it stopped booting at all. I thought it was dead, so with heavy heart and light wallet I bought another. I swapped it into the kit and after many failures got it to boot, and then it ran for days. I bought two of these ArgonOne case/power supply packages and installed both 4Bs in them. They have booted every time and are fine. I believe the 8GB of RAM increases the inrush current beyond what the official Raspberry Pi 3 amp wall warts and the 5.1V 3.5A unit that came in my kit can provide. The Argon unit is 5.25V 3.5A, and it works every time. Now, about the case itself: It is well-designed, quite sturdy, gets the heat out, and has all the ports on the back, which is very tidy. From the front, there is a window in the base that reveals the red and green LEDs, so you can get some information about how the Pi is doing. I had put heat sinks on one of my Pis, so I had to remove them to let the case press down on the IC cases to draw the heat away. Theres also a fan. Cool! Having updated the bootloader on both boards, I dont use an SD card with either; they boot from SSDs (64-bit Ubuntu and 32-bit RasPi OS). They are both currently wired to my TESmart KVM switch (also from Amazon) along with my main computer, so all of them share my trackball, keyboard, and 4K monitor. I am a poorer but happy camper.

Sleak design. No issues with over heating while using the Raspberry Pi 4 . Great little case ...Cant complain at all.

Didnt work for me. I assembled everything as instructed, Pi 4 powered on but there was no signal coming out of the micro HDMI ports. I tried on another power supply from my other Pi4 but still no luck. I then opened up the case again, made sure the included expansion board fitup was snug. Reassembled the case, plugged it in and it did power on, but there were still no signal. Returned mine for a refund. What a bummer.

I just got a Pi 4 and wanted a nice case instead of the cheap acrylic ones Ive bought in the past. All in all, this is a really well thought out design and a great case. I appreciate little touches like the silk-screened GPIO pinout under the magnetic cover and the smoked plastic bottom cover that still allows the power and activity lights to shine through. My only real complaint about the case was during the installation of the four short screws meant to hold the Pi / Argon board assembly to the top cover. The two screws for the Pi went in no problem but one of the two screw holes for the Argon board wasnt even close to lining up. One screw went in fine and theres even a small retaining post that goes through a hole in the board. That lined up and dropped into place no problem. Ive included a photo of the screw hole that shows how far off it is. I was planning on ordering another Pi 4 at some point and was likely going to grab the one for my 3 B+ as well. I just hope the quality control issue with mine was just a fluke.

I purchased this based on a Youtube review, ExplainingComputers. It shows microHDMI ports on the case being brought out. The unit I got has STANDARD HDMI ports and I love it! The only downside was I only had three of the small screws for holding the adapter card in place, but I dont feel any looseness. I love the fact that all the cords come off one side. The heat transfer pads work fine and the case is cool to the touch though you can feel just a bit of heat. The fan has not turned on, yet. Love it and plan to purchase another for the next project an emby media server. or Plex which ever works.
