> 3 dayMy 16 months old and 3.5 years old both like this book. The quality of this product is high, I personally like the singing that was very neutral and not cheesy at all. They picked 6 classic children songs in Chinese in this book that my younger kid loves to sing and dance with it. It’s very easy to play it — they can just press the buttons by themselves, and it kept my younger kid busy for quite a while!

Greater than one weekThe sound is really too quiet to the point where I’m not sure if its singing even on the highest setting. I can’t believe I’m saying this about a book that makes noise, but I wish there were an option to make it louder!

Greater than one weekLet me tell you why this book, like the first, is so amazing – it’s not just a book, it’s a: (1) board book; (2) song book with music and singing; (3) book with some of the most popular Chinese nursery rhymes and translated American nursey rhymes that you all know; (4) interactive toy; and (5) a bilingual book in English, Chinese and Pinyin pronunciation – all rolled into one awesome book! What a wonderful concept! The author/singer is a mommy who created this book for her baby – she has a beautiful soothing voice and the songs brought me back to my childhood as well as when my son was a baby/toddler. Music is so important for babies and children. It has been shown that listening to music helps children develop the ability to decode auditory data and sharpen their auditory memory - abilities which are fundamental to language comprehension. This book will help your kids learn Chinese without it feeling like a lesson. The songs in this book are written in English with the Chinese and Pinyin pronunciation next to each phrase. Even if you can’t read Chinese, you can still sing along with the author by reading the Pinyin pronunciation. You will understand what you are singing/reading because the English is right there for you. This is also a fun and easier way to learn how to read the Chinese characters, too. As an added bonus, because this book is so sturdy and the song buttons are easy to push, your little ones can read/play with this book by themselves! Need a break for a few minutes? Give them this book!

> 3 dayMy 2.5 year old daughter loves the Bao Bao Learns Chinese books! We bought the second book, the book of children’s songs, after our toddler kept listening and singing to the nursery rhyme book constantly (one year later, that book is still going strong). My husband and I can’t read Mandarin fluently so the fact that the book is bilingual and has Mandarin, English, and pingyin is helpful for us too. The sound and the words are clear and the traditional Western and Chinese songs are catchy. After only a week, my daughter has learned all the songs, including the Chinese songs she wasn’t originally familiar with.

Greater than one weekMy 4 month old absolutely loves the songs in these books and even tries to sing along to the tunes! Its the most adorable thing Ive seen her do. We got the red Bao Bao book first and it was such a hit that I had to get the blue book too! My plan was to have her become more familiar with Mandarin and these books definitely make it easier through songs, they also help her focus and entertain her during tummy time. Highly recommend this for all parents, youll catch yourself humming these catchy tunes during the most random moments too.

Greater than one weekMy girls are in love with this book. They play with it everyday and take it with us in the car to sing along. I can see their improvement in Chinese pronunciation just from the short time we have had it.

Greater than one weekThis is the second book to Peipeis first Music Book and we are so glad we purchased this book! The first book had great songs, but we found that having a second book at grandparents home helped to keep our daughters interest level in Chinese songs. (Plus, wouldnt you want to have your child see and learn from a variety of bilingual books?!). Having a mother (who is a native speaker) and a father (who is a 3rd generation American Chinese), this book has helped bridge the gap for the grandparents to learn Chinese tunes together with our daughter. Now that grandpa more interested in learning Chinese, the whole family is singing catchy songs during play time and our daughter is just in love. Its been so cool to see how the grandparents have become more involved in her language learning because of this book! I reviewed the first book (which I highly recommend!) with the three things I love about the book that also apply to this one. But I thought it would be good to include more details about why my family loves the second book. 1. A mix of English-translated songs and childhood songs If you grew up with Chinese speaking family, a few of these songs might take you back to your own childhood memories. I quickly became reminiscent of my own childhood days when my mom and grandma would sing these songs to me and now they can do the same to my daughter. I love that the author included songs that have lasted generations in my family. As a Chinese American, I also have the pin yin and English translations (and Peipeis voice) throughout that help me understand the songs story and how to pronounce it accurately. 2. If Youre Happy and You Know It in CHINESE? This was amazing. Ive been singing this song in English 10x a day with my daughter (because she loves all the movements), but with this book, grandparents and I can sing it in Chinese! (Actually, Peipeis doing a great job singing it, via book). I love that I can now mix it up with a different language so that my daughter can hear both versions from grandparents and myself. 3. Songs that promote family time I love that the songs have a mixture of being a happy kid and especially ones that emphasize the importance of family. I just love that it inspires us as a family to sit together and enjoy each others presence. Weve made these songs into circle time with family and play time before bed because she not only loves listening to Peipei sing, but also us sing and dance along to the tunes. Its been so cute to see! I could continue to go on about Peipeis work, but I am just so appreciative of how much time and effort shes put into this book to allow my child to have a bilingual environment where the family members are engaged and learning together. Totally 100% recommend her books and I look forward to purchasing more from her! Thank you, Peipei!
