Greater than one weekOur son loves this book. He presses the buttons on his own for the songs he wants to hear. We usually read it with him in the morning, right when he wakes up, which gives us 20 minutes of peaceful cuddling with him before he starts wanting to run around. Favorites so far are the Teapot song and Happy New Year. We are raising him to be bilingual, and these types of books are really helpful to connect him with his culture.

> 3 dayReceived my second Bao Bao book in the mail and it is just as amazing as the first! It’s super easy to follow along with the songs. My kiddo and his brother love it already and I’m so glad the author created these books. Kiddo favorites are “Mama is the best in the world” from the first book and now “you are my sunshine” from the second book. Please keep creating!

08-06-2025I was delighted to see this new edition with 6 new songs and bought immediately. My daughter is almost 3, but was gifted Bao Bao when she was 2. She can sing 5 of 6 of the songs, and does so with gusto. When we received this new version, she kept saying I have a new Bao Bao! and immediately began playing the songs. I am trying to raise her bilingual, which is difficult without Mandarin speaking family or school nearby, but Bao Bao has helped more than I could have imagined! Her grandparents are surprised and so happy when they hear her singing songs in Mandarin. The pronunciation is clear, the songs are sung twice, and there is pin yin as well to help me when I dont recognize a character. Dont hesitate!

Greater than one weekLove these little books! One was slightly damaged on the corner but I was too excited to use them to request a refund. Weve had great fun singing along to the songs. The recordings sounds great and the illustrations are lovely. I love that it has English, pinyin and characters, its perfect for someone like me whose Chinese isnt perfect.

> 3 dayThese books (2 in the series) are darling! We love them so much. Great to sing along in Mandarin Chinese. The Pinyin makes it easy to learn the Mandarin lyrics. My only wish is that theres another switch to go between music only, English lyrics, and Mandarin lyrics. I know the point is to learn Mandarin, but the other options would be nice too. Hope there are more books to come!!

> 3 dayThis book is awesome! Im going to buy all of them as they come out. Helpful pin-yin, English translation, and Chinese characters. As someone from Taiwan, not a huge fan of the Beijing accent, but our baby will just have to learn a different accent on her own. ;) Baby LOVES the songs, both in English and Chinese.

Greater than one weekMy 7 yo and 5 yo love that these are some of their fave songs but in Mandarin Chinese. The pros are its sturdy, has 2 volumes and off sound switch. The only con is that the book uses simplified Chinese and we prefer traditional. My 5 yo even brought it into preschool for show and tell and his teacher thought it was great for the other students to hear their fave songs in another language. Overall a great learning and song book for children and makes a great gift!

Greater than one weekWe have the first BAO BAO book & my son has learned all the songs so I was delighted to see a new edition right in time for Christmas. Its been just a month and he sings all of these songs too. Were a generally Montessori bunch so noisy toys usually are a no but this is our exception. The volume control is perfect and the singing is nice.

> 3 dayMy recently turned 3YO son has been totally obsessed with the first Bao Bao book since last year and we love it so much its now become a staple in our gift rotation to welcome newborns, for toddler birthday parties, when visiting friends with little ones, etc. In the process of purchasing yet another gift copy, I was delighted to stumble across this recently released second book. My son recognized Bao Bao on the cover immediately when the Amazon box arrived and had already excitedly torn off the plastic shrink wrap before I even had time to find the scissors, and soon the familiar sound of Bao Bao’s songs was coming from his room. Over the past few days we have found him on multiple occasions just rocking in his chair listening to Bao Bao while enjoying his milk and snack (lifes pretty awesome when youre 3!), and hes already started picking up some of the new songs from listening to them on repeat, so needless to say, the new Bao Bao is a huge hit! I am always impressed by how quickly toddlers pick up new things, but the fact that every word of mandarin my son has learned so far comes from the Bao Bao books is really a credit to the genius of this adorable learning tool. He has always enjoyed push-the-button books, but Bao Bao is so much better -- and more often used -- than the piles of interactive toys we have amassed over the years. In fact, given how often our copy of the first book is played with, Im shocked we havent had to replace our copy by now -- we havent even had to replace the batteries yet -- so bonus points for a high-quality product in addition to the great songs and cute illustrations. The last thing Ill say about the Bao Bao books is that, unlike many other toys/books which make noise and can drive parents to the brink of absolute madness (especially in quarantine, where both space and patience can be limited...), both my husband and I get a kick out of the Bao Bao books, so much so that we dont even mind that its become a bit of an unofficial soundtrack to our WFH calls and web meetings. Highly recommend!!
