> 3 dayGood density. It’s nice that it’s got a place to add a string so you can put it on a carabiner. Each strike with a strong blade will give you a good pile of starting material. In most cases I can get spark/flame on the second strike.

> 3 dayNow I REALLY like this rod. It puts out a lot of spark and sure is a lot easier to use than these Little Mag bar toys and striker on the market (I have a number of those too) Just big but its great. You should have one too if you dont already. Update: Ordered another one. works great.

> 3 dayIf you want to do a bit of roughing it and want to carry dependable gear, then a feral rod like this is essential...but it takes a bit of time to learn how to use it. Ive found that its a good idea to depend on it alone if you really want to learn. The time to learn is when you dont really need it. Leave the matches home and figure it out. Soon, youll carry less gear and go farther.
