20-11-2024Only had this a couple of weeks, but I am really impressed. This Ferro Rod is much bigger than any I have seen or used before. The whole rod is Ferro metal, so I expect this will last more than my lifetime. Much easier to get strong sparks because of the length of the rod. No striking metal included with this rod, which was fine with me. I use the back edge of my sheath knife. Also, tried it with the back edge of a box cutter. Both produce abundant sparks. Rod is noticeably heavier than other rods, so I suppose that could be a turn off to some one concerned about an extra few ounces. Not a worry for me. Would gladly buy again, but I don;t think I will ever have to, unless I loose this one. Not paid or induced to say this, I am a regular outdoorsman..
