Been using this rod for a year now. What can I say, other than it sprays reliable sparks every single stroke? That’s assuming you have an appropriate spine on your knife. Great product.

Good product that can be an actual LIFESAVER IN EMERGENCIES. Works great and reliable in Wet environments.

As a total novice I wanted to get something that was easy and effective. These sticks meet both of those needs.

This is a hefty thing; therefore easy to stroke and hold when working around light and dry tinder of any type. I intend to put about 20 or 30 yards of braided fishing line in a loop and Ill have to chamfer the edges of the drilled hole to prevent agressive wear on the line, but I expect to hand this down to the grandchild with a lot of the metal leftover.

Size matters is an age old mantra. When it comes to fire steels, its true. If you plan to use a ferrocerium rod as your primary firecraft, youll want as large as youll comfortably carry to facilitate the art. Yes, a smaller rod does the trick but a bigger rod does it with less effort. (So sorry, no puns originally intended. It just came out that way.)

Throws great sparks. big enough to hold easily. Is a permanent part of my pack fire kit. should last just about forever.

Really a great ferro rod. Perfect size for my needs and throws decent sparks. Put some hunter orange cord through it and its ready to go. Buy this rod and you wont be disappointed.
