> 3 dayWorks great! After Striking the coating off, it sparked first strike. Went to light a fire after the fourth strike the embers were burning.

> 3 dayGreat fire starter. The ferrocerium rod is 6 inches long and is covered in a black paint finish. The first few times you strike it you are knocking off the paint. Once you get past the black finish it is easy to get a nice large set of sparks. The paracord makes for a great handle to pull this from your pocket. Looking forward to my next camping trip.
