The Bissell Crosswave Hydrosteam Plus Model 35151 Multi-surface Cleaner is a handy household appliance. It cleans bare floors, including hardwood, tile, and vinyl, as well as area rugs. It makes floor cleaning a much easier task. Arriving in its own box, the Bissell Crosswave was very well-packed. Each piece was plastic wrapped and there are dry molded pulp inserts at the top and bottom of the box to keep everything secure. Inside the box were three 8oz cleaning formulas, a storage and cleaning tray, the vacuum, handle and trigger, cleaning formula bottle, an extra filter, and a very clear, well-written instruction manual. Already installed are a cleaning roller brush and filter. The wet dry vac has a 25 power cord, which I appreciate. It is mostly black and gray plastic and weighs about 14.5 pounds empty, so be aware if you will be carrying it around the house. To operate, you add water and formula to the cleaning formula bottle fill lines and place it upside down on the rear of the machine. The flow of liquid is controlled by a trigger on the handle. There are two controls on the handle: an on/off button and mode select button. You can use the mode select button to select either bare floors, steam clean, or area rugs. There are three LED lights on the base of the unit that reflect your selection. Once you turn the machine on and make your selection, you simply pull the handle back from its resting upright position and the roller brush starts turning. There are two very bright LED headlights at the front of the machine. The Bissell cleaner is pretty loud during operation. It has a nice pivoting head that allows you to get into corners and around furniture or appliances. You use the trigger on the handle to spray cleaning formula solution, then let up on the trigger and go back over the area to vacuum up the liquid. Pretty straightforward. If using the steam function, you need to hold the trigger about 30 seconds after selecting this option to start the steam, which will be visible at the cleaning head. Removing and replacing the dirty water container is simple, as are all steps in using this machine. Once you have finished cleaning your floor or rug, there is a cleaning solution that should be used instead of formula. You place the Crosswave on the cleaning/storage tray and press a cleaning button located on the carrying handle of the machine about halfway up the body. This spins the roller brush in the tray and cleans everything. After all this, you remove virtually all the parts, rinse them out with plain water, and allow everything to air dry for 24 hours before reassembling the machine. You can register your Bissell product on their website, and there is a three-year warranty on the cleaner. I am very pleased with this Bissell Crosswave Hydrosteam Plus Model 35151 Multi-surface Cleaner. It is another in a long line of quality products from this company and I award it 5 stars.

Though heavy to use, this sweeper does the job! The cleaning(mopping) picks up the dirt, wet mops the area with steam and dries the area in one machine! I think that is a good investment!

I have been a long advocate of the Bissell Crosswave after buying my first 2.5 years ago. Prior to that, I was a steam mop fan which I still use occasionally. So, when I saw they released a new Crosswave WITH steam i just had to try it. It is much sturdier/heavier than the previous model and removes much more water residue left behind than the previous model did! All in all, my new favorite hard floor cleaner!

I just tried this machine out and the heavens opened, and angels are singing. It just did everything it promised YAY! I have all hard floors for 5 decades, so I’ve had plenty of mopping experience, and I’ve raised 3 sons, now a teen daughter I adopted, and numerous pets. The bonus plan is that since my husband will do almost any chore/task if it involves a noisy machine. He likes to vacuum, and loves to pressure wash driveway and patio/pool deck etc. My scheme is to show him this, and fingers crossed, he’ll do some of the floor washing.

If your floor is dirty because the idea of breaking out the mop is a back breaking job then your not alone. I know myself I personally slack cleaning floors just because it can be a back breaker. I knew I needed a powered wet mop for a long time, and so enters the BISSELL. Out of the box it was a snap to get it going, of course I saw a few YouTube’s and read the instruction from cover to cover cause I’m a instructions nerd. I was ready to test this flag ship. It claims to clean, add steam for that hard to clean spots that you have to mop over like 1000 times until it is clean. So I assembled, read (as noted), and had the whole house at my disposal. I tested on hardwood, ceramic, porcelain, and laminate. I filled the water canister with required water and chemicals (included), and off I went. To be fair the pictures I included was one of 2 times I emptied the waste water. On all the wood I used the floor mode, using 50% trigger squeeze (drops water/chemicals to roller), and it cleanup up nice. I did not need to keep the trigger down all the time as that would release too much water. I did see a few tough spots, so I changed the mode to STEAM, and did a few passes on that mode and it did come clean. On the porcelain, and laminate, I kept the steamer mode on just to see the results. All in all it picked up all the dirt, cleaned the surface, and dried fast and did not leave film. So far all went well, I used the self clean mode, took apart the pieces, cleaned them out and left out to dry. So what is the bad? The water/chemical did go fairly quick and me only using 50% trigger pulls. Dont get me wrong, it went fine, I could see how I will need to buy the cleaning chemicals more often, and that is fine. When its time to clean, just do it right. Next issue is grout. No you do not need to worry about your grout because it will not touch it. Meaning it is a SURFACE cleaner, not a deep cleaner. My grout had dirt pieces in there after I was done because the roller does not get to it. So my suggestion is, vacuum before you wet mop to clean out the grout, and add to your calendar another day to get on your knees to clean that out. Would I recommend, oh yes, having this I will clean the floors more often, as it did a good job.

    Greater than one week

I have had three of these types of wet/dry vacs through years, this one is the best by far. The suction, steam and cleaning power is great. I generally stick with Bissell has I have had nothing but good experiences so far with their products. My husband actually uses it daily, as we have all tile in our home and he loves how quickly it dries and good it cleans.

Cleans good for the most part. *6.5/10 The cleaning afterwards part I did not like. Looks simple on user manual but if you dont have a utility sink its difficult to clean out the dirty container . Im not about to put the dirty water and debris down my kitchen sink... had dump out down toilet and rinse out in my bathroom sink and letsjust say it did not go well. And cleaning all the nooks&cranies afterward with toothbrush is a litte Tedious.*2/10 Also there was an issue with the self cleaning mode and customer service handling the situation. The first time spent about 1.5 hrs on chat going in circles with rep being super snarky. Then got disconnected but then other rep was helpful but was on the chat for another 1.5 hrs.. *3/10 ..For $300+ idk if it was worth it.

Used this to combo vacuum/mop my wood floors. Was great to get it done all in one step. Will definitely keep using this to keep the floors clean for my crawling baby. I haven’t tried it on carpet yet but so far I’m liking it for the hardwoods. Will definitely use the sanitize feature for the ceramic bathroom floors. Should definitely make cleaning the floors and easier process!

I will admit that a do-it all type of appliance had me skeptical at first, but all of that skepticism quickly went away after the first time I used the CrossWave. Not only did it tackle every surface in my house with ease, it also drastically cut down cleaning time since I wasnt switching between a mop to a vacuum to a steam mop for hard to clean spills. Not to mention that the build quality is superb in a way that Im confident this will last a long time. If youre like me, take this as a sign to stop reading countless reviews of similar models/brands - just buy the CrossWave and be done with fumbling with multiple cleaning appliances.
