First, I like the fact it is made in the USA. Beyond that it is a good quality filter at a reasonable price. The filter material is dense enough to really block many airborne allergens, dust, etc. My HVAC tech told me not to go too high on the MERV level as it adds stress to the unit by restricting airflow. The MERV 8 is a perfect balance between filtration and airflow providing clean air inside the home while not disrupting the operation of the expensive HVAC system. Win, win!!!

These filter are good quality. So far the filters have captured the normal dirt and dust to protect the HVAC.

Filters like these with a high MERV rating do restrict the flow of air through your system and put a greater strain onto your blower, so it’s important to use these only if necessary (for example you are trying to reduce allergens or mold in the air). If you use these, I recommend switching them out at LEAST every three months, or else they will clog up and block airflow and strain your system. I will probably do it every two months. The price seems decent for the quality. They seem very nice and fit well.

These HVAC Filters are Really Good Electrostatically charged non-woven Polypropylene is commonly used in medical face mask. Provides heightened filtration of sub-micron particles. They can be wiped clean with a damp cloth extending their use. To recharge the static cling loss from cleaning simply rub the surface with a plastic glove for 15 to 20 seconds. A filter rated MERV 8 captures at least 85% of airborne particles between the sizes of 0.3 and 10 microns. This is generally good enough to get the job done for the average home. Conversely it captures less than 20% of particles PM0.3 microns and smaller. Smaller the microns, the more danger they can pose to the human body. Most viruses and bacteria fall in this category. Only HEPA filters are capable of capturing these dangerous airborne pollutants. That’s not what these filters are designed to do. I suffer from bad hay fever year-round. Unfortunately, the neighborhood I reside is teaming with oak trees everywhere. Thanks to these BNX 16x20x1 MERV 8 air filters my heating, ventilation and air conditioning system doesn’t allow tree pollen to infiltrate my home. It’s recommended to change your HVAC filters every 90 days. Having this 7 pack guarantees me 630 days of pollen free air to breathe inside my house. Heck of a deal especially at this price.

These are a quality filter and for the case price you cannot beat it. I can swap my filter out every 6 weeks for nigh on a year if needs be for under 35$. Box store cant beat that. Theyre easy install drop in/slide in filters. They arent heavy duty but they are appropriately weighted for a MERV8 filter.

A clear step above the value filters I was using. My daughter who has allergies has noticed a significant change so I will certainly be stocking up on these in the future. You get what you pay for indeed.
