Much better than pads Ive purchased. The steel is much more uniform, which made the pieces I used stay together longer.

Excellent steel wool. I used this to buff a glossy rifle stock to a satin finish, and it worked perfectly. I started the project with 4/0 Steel wool I bought from a Low-Depot store. It was crap. This steel wool is a fantastic roll that has nice, parallel strands of wool that wont make cross cut marks in the wood finish. I will by this wool exclusively in the future. The roll is fairly large and I ended up buffing the whole rifle stock with about 8 in of a single roll. I bought two boxes so I still have plenty left over.

This has proven to be superior to the heavily liked/favored Liberon 0000 steel wool. The Briwax stays together better and wont cut up your hands through latex gloves like its b4 mentioned competitor has done to my hands. Save money and achieve better results and go with Briwax.

I added to vinegar in a Mason jar to create a natural stain. It was obvious this steel wool strand size is very fine. I have plenty left to try on some delicate polishing. Wish I could recommend one way or another but I dont feel qualified to do so with how I used it.

Very good quality, ideal for metal finishes such as firearms, knives and other materials where Precision polishing in debris removal or a challenge. Is about the best material for the price I saw. The fact that it has no oils included make it an ideal shop Edition

This Steel wool is a in a roll and is in sleeve form, making it east to get exactly as much as needed for the job at hand. We us this to take rust off metal parts and are very pleased with how easy it is to use and how well it works. Highly Recommended! CFH

I usually use Liberon 0000 steel wool for between coat leveling, tried this to see if it was any better, or cheaper. Its an excellent product, maybe stays together a bit longer than Liberon but its pretty much a toss-up which is better. Most important is either of these products will produce much better results than the garden variety 0000 youll find at hardware or big box stores at a much lower price. Compared side-by-side there is no comparison, theyre two completely different products, and worth the extra bucks if youre serious about your work. eBays the cheapest place to buy either, and theyre both about the same price. Buying by the 225-250g roll is most economical

I finish my furniture with an oil base finish and then top with wax. This very fine wool does a great job of getting the wax into the hard to read places.

I use this infrequently, so I appreciate the fact that it has not rusted while in my very humid garage. How they do this without oil is unknown to me, but appreciated. I love the finish I get by rubbing out shellac with this steel wool--a very pleasing satin finish.
