> 3 dayYou can only configure Alexa for pre-programmed functions - not enough flexibility to say operate my fireplace.

Greater than one weekI ended up adding the Sewell IR Blaster (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B074CNWJZV/) so I can control everything. ibroadlink.com/support - FYI your downloads dont work. Roku 4K streaming stick no codes, and cant learn - sent email. Optoma GT1090HR no codes, manually learned - screen uses RF different vendor unable learn codes - sent email. Unable to add additional buttons after setting up a universal Remote for device - sent email. Looking forward to hearing back. Hopefully once all codes are done the scenesmacros work. Also, very difficult to add the RM4 Pro device - it took about 20x attempts. It would have been nice to simply scan a QR and add the device vs. the manual setup that was required.

Greater than one weekThere a lot of things that Alexa or Google can do but adding this device extends their ability to control the IR (TV remotes etc) and the RF (radio frequency devices) that you have had in your home for years. It allows you to control these devices via voice and does so reliability and easily. I have been more than impressed by this device. As a note for RF, make the unit you are buying supports both 315MHz & 433MHz.

20-11-2024It works perfectly for an IR Blaster that is connected to Home Assistant. My recommendation is to not have it connected to the internet.

> 3 dayAndroid setup failed as shown in the attached picture. Iphone setup worked fine. 5 stars if the android setup worked. The cloud based sharing of configurations worked well, the android phone picked up what the iphone setup. I used it to replace an RF fireplace remote. I discovered that the fireplace remote actually sends 2 commands with each button press, for example: set flame to 2 and set fan to 4. This required programming a button for each combination to be controlled. Not a problem as thats just how the remote worked.

> 3 dayThis doesnt work, wish I would have returned it immediately, now its too late after trying to get support on the product and all they said was try setting it up again. It basically works when you set it up, then its like it goes to sleep by the next morning and it wont wake up until you try it several times if you are lucky. Bought a Bond bridge and it works EVERY time. Also works with my ceiling fan and Broadlink NEVER worked with my ceiling fan. Save yourselves time and just go for the Bond bridge. Bonds support is far better as well and responds same day.

Greater than one weekI purchased this as an accessory for Google Home. I use it to control my living room entertainment center and my ceiling fan. The functions for the entertainment center that translate to Google Home are very elementary - change channel, on and off. I cannot pause my DirecTV box or restart, nor can it control the volume. Also, it doesnt recognize on from off - it just sends a signal. So, if the TVs off and it gets a command to turn the TV off (via a Bedtime Routine), it will turn it on. Same with the fan and the fans light. You can, however, control the speed of the fan with Google Home, so thats a nice feature.

> 3 dayUpdate: now that I’ve had for about a week, here’s my update. Lost a star, because broadlink hub has to be directly in front of the receiver for it to work and looks ridiculous; needs IR blasters. Response time to turn volume up and down is terrible. 2 stars because I can control with Alexa. Honestly, $50 more and get the Harmony hub and place anywhere around the receiver. Even if Harmony can’t reach receiver, I can use IR blaster. I did program to use fireplace remote, but again the broadlink hub has to be directly in front of the fireplace. I got the broadlink so I can use IR and RF, but so far I can’t get get any RF to work. Was able to connect my Denon receiver without any problems using IR. Did relearn some of the buttons on the BroadLink app to match my remote. Will not connect to my RF remote ceiling fan. Doesn’t help that I don’t know what the RF is to my remote. I’ve searched everywhere I can think of.
