the stocking is beautiful, very over the top, great to do if you like hand sewing. turns out just like the picture. love it.

It certainly turns out adorable when you’re finished. Because it’s so incredibly time consuming, it’s not very easy. It took me about a solid week and a half of 8 hours a day to complete, with one or two days nearing 12 hours. The numbers on the pieces are illegible. I ran out of white embroidery floss. On some pieces, like the legs, the preprinted guideline shows and I couldn’t really think of any way to hide it except wait for time to rub it off. In the directions, it wants you to see the large piece onto the stocking itself and then bead or embroider or appliqué the smaller pieces to that. That’s impossible. For example, it wants you to sew the green tree to the stocking and then attach the pieces to the tree but only to sew through the felt of the tree, not the stocking. It’s nearly impossible to not go through all of the felt layers when attempting to attach a bead. So i attached all pieces to the tree and then sewed the tree to the stocking. I also did this for the top cuff and the purple skirt and the hairpiece. It’s much easier to do it this way so be sure to read ahead.

This one had TONS of embroidery and many many tiny things to cut out. It turned out really cute just like the picture though. Took about 3 weeks to finish with working on it for at least an hour every day.

this is my eight one. six for my nieces and nephews and this and another for my great-niece and nephew! i dont sew (really i dont), but im a crafting maniac. these ARE rather easy to sew. if i can do it, you can too. loads of designs to choose from. they have become much loved keepsakes at christmas time.

Ive been making these stockings for a number of years. The quality of the felt and supplies is diminishing each year. I have some kits from the mid 90s and the quality is superb and just much better. Not Amazons fault but the mfg.
