Greater than one weekOther reviewers mentioned that CAT went cheap on the brass and they werent joking.... The goop they use to seal the threads is also pretty nasty stuff...smells like some sort of epoxy. The compressor I got from them was kind of leaky until I taped and reseated everything, so I didnt even bother filling the tank up before replacing the fittings. I cant say for sure if they are even brass. As you can see the Tee fitting broke apart as I was removing it. The tank itself is very lightweight and feels solid. Im wary about replacing the drain valve and main intake fitting since I dont want to deal with returning the item should anything happen. I dont think the threaded ports that are welded onto the tank are solid aluminum, but what can you expect for about $100? Its still a good value, but I wish they would have not included the extras and maybe just had more solid ports.

> 3 dayMy compressor is in the front of the garage. And we have a large back yard, so having to take the lawn tractor, dump trailer or some other cart with aired tires around to the front of the house to add air is nuts, I use this tank to air up tires in the backyard. I have about 14 tires back there. Love it!

> 3 dayThis tank had leaks at 3 locations. I sealed all but the main one at the tank outlet. They need to some work this. I returned the tank to Amazon. California customer service was very easy to deal with, and they said they switched the lock tight supplier, but that is where the good customer support ends. I will order another one, and we shall see. Some of the leaks were really small, as I did the checks in a water tank to identify them...To add to the list very poor customer support. I asked for a replacement for a leaking fitting, and was told to fill out a form on their website. I did that, and heard nothing from them. I wont buy again. I was going to buy a compressor, but with lax support I will not.. After a few more weeks I find another issue. Another leak where the hose is crimped to the fitting. Everything leaks on the tank. So if you order one throw all the fittings away, and get some good ones, as these are junk. One more thing to add. Notice that the seller never responds.

> 3 dayI bought this product for the aluminum tank alone, knowing that the air intake and exhaust valve system was inferior and would have to be replaced. Otherwise very good.

Greater than one weekThe California Air Tools 10 gal tank is a handy tool to have on hand, but the other reviews describing the fitting as cheap are correct. I ordered the 5 gal tank, filled it with 100 lbs of air, it leaked down to about 70 lbs over night. Couldnt find the leak. I returned it , and ordered the 10 gal tank. When the 10 gal tank arrived, I discovered that it had been purchased and returned by a previous customer. The tank had air in it and had some scuff marks on the bottom of the tank. Im a bit disappointed in Amazon for pulling that sort of transaction. But, the 10 gal tank is much like the 5 gal tank, has cheap fittings. I put 100 lbs of air in it and it leaked down about 5 lbs within 2 or 3 hours. I soap tested it for leaks, but could not find any I cant tell why it is losing air pressure. I will keep it and replace the fitting if it becomes a real problem. Just be prepared to fill the tank before you use it, I dont know how long air will remain in the tank over a long period of time.. I did buy the aluminum tank, it is light, and well built. It should last a long time. I do plan to up grade the fittings later.

Greater than one week10 gallon Aluminum: I like it. If I knew a flaw I would warn you. I leave mine pressurised 24/7 from compressor. Rarely does the compressor kick on when at rest. This includes my AstroPneumatic tire inflator plugged in to a 50 foot BostonPerfection hose. I like it. 1 gallon portables become 11 gallon, and will run most reasonable tools , if constrictions in valve connectors are full flow. Air is a fluid with friction resistance at every surface and kink . Think of water hoses . Again, most pleased MarkTanksley
