Extremely high quality portrait photos. Used this lens to take pictures for our Christmas cards and everyone asked where we had our pictures taken. Awesome lens.

I like this lens so much.... it is perfect for the beginner and affordable.

The hood that comes in this kit mounts using the filter threads. This hood is not reversible, which sort of sucks because the good hoods are literally less than $10 on Amazon from a ton of different sellers. If it had a good hood it would have had 5 stars. The rest of the crap this kit comes with is mediocre. I only bought this kit because it had the hood with the lens. Now I need to buy another hood.

This lens is great. I haven’t had it for too long so I’m not sure about the durability but the focus on it is amazing and I love the accessories that it comes with. Great purchase!

I have the Yongnuo 50mm f/1.8 and while it was OK, it was noisy, hunted for focus, and just wasnt what Id hoped for. I decided I should get the real deal Canon instead of the knockoff. This lens is quiet, nails the focus quickly, and feels much better than the imitator. Going with this kit made sense as it was the same price but I got some filters, pouch, blower, lens hood and some other items. Those items arent the greatest of quality, but its something for nothing extra. I got my order delivered in two days as promised and its worked flawlessly on two video shoots and I used it at an airshow. If youre thinking of getting the nifty fifty, get it here.

This lens consistently gives me WAY more fringing than my 85, and I feel like it also doesn’t focus quite as well. Still good value for the money but I’m probably going to find a different 50 that doesn’t require so much de fringing in post.
