> 3 dayI really enjoyed the ease of use! This lens gives great photos for the price and has more than paid for itself already. My work is in fine arts and most of the large exhibitions are still poorly lit, not an issue for this lens! It feels well constructed and it is not at all heavy so carrying it for hours is not an issue. The auto focus seems smooth and when tested at home it is quiet. I can see why its called The Nifty Fifty! The only reason I have not given this lens five stars is that I have not owned it long enough, time is where true quality shows itself.

> 3 dayI bought this so I could get Christmas pictures of my nephew. All I had before this were stock lenses that came with my mom’s canon rebel t4i. This lens had much better image quality than the stock lens. The blur effect in the background looks great. I was skeptical because I don’t really buy used very often, but this was worth it.

> 3 dayI recently started a business in photography over the last year and a half. I heard lots of good things about this lens so I had to get it. I LOVE it, it holds up to the title nifty fifty.

Greater than one weekIts a very good lens, the only thing thats stoping it from getting a 5/5 is the crop factor with my camera that makes it the equivalent of an 80mm lens on a full frame format. Other than that the image is sharp, you can make great shallow depth of field shots and the aperture can let in enough light to shoot reasonably exposed images in a dark indoors room. As a prime lens this is a great addition to anyones tool set and Id highly recommend this lens if you can get one.

> 3 dayThe STM version of Canons 50mm 1.8 lenses is the best one so far. Compared to the previous version, the STM now has a metal mount instead of plastic, 7 aperture blades compared to 5 and the new STM autofocus system. The result is a better feeling lens that focuses quietly and has smoother bokeh. The price is still low enough to recommend to everyone who has a canon DSLR (or even mirrorless if you have the adaptor).

> 3 dayThis is a wonderful lense for quick shooting around the house when family comes over. I love snapping in the moment photos without taking time to pose everybody when we finally get a chance to spend time as a family and I can leave this lense on all day. The shorter focal length allows me to sneak up on unsuspecting friends and snap a photo before they can realize theres even a camera pointed in their direction.
