I am not a professional photographer but when I take a picture of something from a distance and want it to be sharp and clear when I zoom in. THIS lens does the trick without having to spend a ton of money. Very pleased!

Came fast, packaged safely, was exactly what I expected. Decent lens. Only zoom lens in my budget.

Buy it for the image stabilization and the stepping motor focusing. You already know you want it for the zoom range. The next step up with Canon lenses can put a real dent in the bank account. Use the Canon Digital Photo Professional that came with your camera and add the lens correction data; it takes a really good lens and makes it great! As another site reviewer put it - If you cant take great pictures with this lens, its not the lens. Its you.

I bought this lens for $199cad, it was too good to let it pass. It is a great upgrade to anyone who, like me, has a 18-55 ef-s with IS II kit lens. Its not only a range upgrade: color, sharpness and stabilization are way better with this lens. The focus is completely silent, faster and more precise than the 18-55 ef-s that came with my camera. Of course there are better lenses out there but not for this price. It is shipped with the lens cap but no pouch or hood but anyone on a budget would prefer this than paying 50$ more. It is the right choice by Canon. You can buy the pouch and hood one month later or whenever you have the money.

Having looked at several glowing reviews on UTube I decided to buy this lens. It was ordered mid day on Dec 22 and received mid day Dec 23 - amazing Amazon Prime delivery service, and in time for Christmas! Price was extremely good, at a saving of $140 off the retail value of $399. So far the lens appears to be exactly as advertised, and reviewed by other very satisfied purchasers. Great accessory for my new Rebel T5i. Merry Christmas to me!
