I played this for the first time years ago with my family - after a brief learning curve, its an addictive and really fun game. Santa brought this for Christmas and while our 5 year old isnt impressed, our 6 year old loves it. Highly recommended, especially if you can get it on sale!

I know some previous reviewers mentioned that the printing was off and that the pieces were hard to punch out with tearing and I can honestly say that those issues seem to be solved in this newest edition. All the printing is pretty well centered and the pieces have fewer attachment points making punching them out almost effortless compared to a previous edition that my buddy has. The game itself is fantastic and doesnt get stale quickly because there are so many different ways to play that it guarantees that no two games will be alike. Plus, if you want some additional challenges you can always buy one of the many expansion sets.

One of our favorite games

This game is east enough for my 7l8 year old, but fun enough to keep the whole family engaged. My 8 year old hates to sit down and play board games with us, but she found joy in being able to build the biggest army, or have the longest wall. It is simple to learn, and a challenge every time you play.

This is the best game ever! It requires thought but is so much fun once you figure it out! My mom and dad both picked up on it in about 20 min. You will love it!

Nice when trying to play four or more.

After playing this game several times at a friends house, this became my favorite board game so I finally decided to buy it for ourselves. When it arrived, we were all excited but upon opening it, we were very disappointed with 1) the blue set is missing a settlement (seriously, I counted every piece that came out of the packaging); 2) the face of the number tokens look wrinkled, like when you paint something and had paint over-runs/run-offs; 3) the pictures on the board are (consistently) slightly off centered. #2 and #3 may be a little nit-picky (still annoying), but #1 is definitely disappointing and unacceptable since we cant play the game with a missing piece.

Amazing game! Love to play it with our friends! One of my favorite purchases.
