I gave this to a relative and have visited since and found the machine on but utterly silent and the smell of the home much improved, two nice benefits to an air-cleaning machine.

I got my first Airmega back in September, and I snagged a 2nd one thanks to a Black Friday deal in mid-November. Obviously, I really liked the first unit which we use in our living room. It cleans the air on the same level as my old Rabbit Minus A2 which is now approaching 14 years old (for real, I just checked my order history here since I bought it on Amazon in 2009 ), and the Rabbit looks and runs like new (Im amazed how well it has held up). However, unlike the Rabbit, this Coway Airmega has much more affordable filter replacement options and has the added benefit of turning the ionizer on/off. I usually like to keep it on myself (makes the air smell crisper), but it is nice to have the ability to toggle it on/off. Seemingly able to clean as well as my Rabbit and operate at a similar noise level, I didnt see the need to spend hundreds more on another brand. About the noise: the Airmega operates at a very acceptable noise level when on level 2. I keep it there for the most part since its not loud while still moving a ton of air (blows your hair up if you lean over it). If were vacuuming and cleaning, I bump it up to the max, and it sounds more like a vacuum cleaner at that level. Fine by me since you can feel its moving a massive amount of air, and thats what I want when were cleaning and dust is flying, my dogs dander and hair is getting shaken up into the air, etc... this thing has resulted in nearly no dust in the living area around it. It really sucks up the junk floating about. It isnt the prettiest thing in the world but you could absolutely do worse, and at least it has a fairly slim profile. Were able to tuck it behind a recliner where you dont even see it (in a corner), and thanks to the low noise level, no visitors even realize its there. The lowest level is extremely quiet, but it moves such little air, I cant imagine it being useful. Thats the curse with all these units, even my much more expensive Rabbit. Whisper quiet at low levels is nice, but if I can feel more air pressure exhaling out of my nose than from whats coming out of the unit, Ill opt for a bit more noise. The reason I listed this as 2 stars is because on one hand, I couldnt bring myself to putting it at 1 star given how great the filtration is and the low noise from the unit. Those are huge positives for me and especially given the price point. But, what kills this for me is an apparent lack of support by the manufacturer. I found that out recently when I accidentally tore a hole in the pre-filter, meaning the piece that comes with the unit and is washable, not the filters that you buy as a pack and replace as needed. The pre-filter is apparently not sold by anyone on earth other than Coway, and despite having it listed on their website, its been sold out for weeks. I suspect much longer since I see reviews here mentioning the exact same problem. I contacted their support on the website, asking when will this be back in stock? I was sent a robotic, unhelpful response, a scripted paragraph about how my order (I dont have an order, thats kind of the issue here...I want to make one) will end up canceled if the out of stock item does not end up coming back in stock, and that they dont know when or IF the item will ever come back in stock. It reads like a very generic message they send for any questions about out of stock items, so I really dont know if this is an indication they never plan to produce more pre-filters or....maybe they randomly will one day and by luck Ill open the website at that exact moment to happen to buy one before its gone again? Yeah, that kills it for me. If I cant get another pre-filter, Im not going to keep replacing the replaceable filters. Ill get another air purifier that has actual manufacturer support. The whole point of the pre-filter is that it serves to collect the big stuff coming in to your purifier before it hits your replaceable filters. With a gaping hole in my pre-filter, all kinds of stuff is getting sucked right in and up against the replaceable filters, both reducing air flow and killing the life of my filters (and making them less effective). Simple little hole, big problem. My Rabbit Minus A2 pre-filter, on the other hand, is original. Its never torn a hole, and Ive cleaned it who knows how many of times, not necessarily gently either. Its far superior to the quality of the Airmega pre-filter. Will the Airmega even turn on 14 years from now? Ill never know since Ill have disposed of it well before then. So, as much as I love this unit, I dont love this brand, and Ill move on once my filters expire. Theres better, more dedicated brands out there who will gladly continue to sell you replacement parts for as long as youll buy them.

I have a small business, and now own 5 of these purifiers for the office. I find them to be efficient, and make me, and our clients, feel just a little more comfortable since the pandemic. Filtration and ventilation are key components in effective mitigation. They run on eco mode, so ramp up when there is a need. They were very helpful during wildfire season the past 2 years. I find I dont need to change the filters often, about once a year.

Been using for about week in a bedroom, works well, mostly just leave it in auto mode, detects quickly and filters room quickly, very quiet at night on speed 1.

I am not one of those paid to review folks-- I rarely actually leave reviews- but I LOVE THIS air purifier. Its easy to set up and immediately started working-- it made our home seem better almost immediately. IN LOVE <3

I did notice a huge difference first time I let it run not so much after but I guess that means it was working. It does catch when something has been sprayed in the air so it’s definitely reading the air in the room. Great product.

It’s easy to pull apart for cleaning. I use a furniture brush attachment and vacuum the outside and inner permanent screen most regularly. It also requires a damp cotton swab cleaning of the dust sensor fairly regularly—but that’s also quick. It was smelling mildewy after about a year, and changing the carbon pre-filter wasn’t helping, so I tried soaking the permanent screen in our big sink with warm water, baking soda and a little dish soap for a few minutes. I didn’t need to scrub or anything—just rinsed and propped it up in a safe spot to dry. It looked so much cleaner—and the thing hasn’t smelled since! I hadn’t realized how dirty it was. I’ll probably need to do that yearly or so I’d guess.

I read all the other reviews and was motivated to buy this particular product and I am VERY GLAD I DID. It is so quiet and I can feel it working which is great!!! The packaging weighs a lot more than the actual product so be aware when lifting it. I simply took a knife and cut it away and then it was easy to move to my apartment. ONE NOTE: I HAD OFFERED THE DRIVER A SUBSTANTIAL TIP TO DELIVER IT TO MY DOOR BUT THEY UNFORTUNATELY (FOR THEM) DID NOT READ THE INSTRUCTIONS COMPLETELY... SO I HAD PIZZA FOR DINNER TONIGHT:) GREAT PRODUCT. WORTH THE EXPENSE!!

    Greater than one week

I work indoors. This makes a noticable difference. Also like the adjustable settings. I think this is a good purchase.
