> 3 dayIve had this for 7 months. Got it because of my first cat and a litter box. Does a fairly good job of keeping control of cat litter. The filter timer seems to either not work (bad) or only count down while the purifier is on (good). Replacement filters were a fair price and you can find them on Amazon. Its easy enough to change the filters, and to also briefly vacuum the front mesh filter every few months. None of the joints or buttons seem flimsy enough to fail in short time. The fan settings range from very quiet a good gust. The ionizer is an optional feature, and Ive never gotten along well with ozone from past experience. It took me a few weeks to figure out that the blood-flavored cough I developed was caused by the ionizer feature and not an undiscovered allergy to cats. But you can turn it off. It has a dark-mode where the brightest light can be turned off, which is essential if you put it in a bedroom like I do. Overall, Im satisfied. The true test of an air purifier is if the motor burns out in a few years because they might be manufactured with cheap sleeve bearings (the fate of my previous purifiers), or the filters because impossible to buy. Time will tell on these.

> 3 daythis air purifier is a product with balanced performance. It performs well in air purification and offers convenient features. However, it has limitations in terms of noise levels, filter lifespan and cost, as well as coverage range. If you are seeking a well-rounded air purifier with basic functionality, it may be an option worth considering. Positive aspects: 1. Air purification effectiveness: The Coway Airmega AP-1512HH with its true HEPA filter performs well in filtering out dust, pollen, and other fine particles from the air. It effectively improves indoor air quality, especially for those who are sensitive to allergens. 2. Auto mode and air quality monitoring: The air purifiers auto mode and air quality monitoring feature adjust the fan speed automatically based on the detected indoor air quality. This is convenient for busy individuals as it adjusts automatically as needed. 3. Design and operation: The Airmega AP-1512HH has a sleek and user-friendly design. It features an intuitive control panel and easy-to-replace filters. Additionally, its moderate size allows for placement in various rooms. Negative aspects: 1. Noise levels: While this air purifier operates relatively quietly on low speed, it produces noticeable noise on high speed. This may be bothersome for individuals who require a quiet environment. 2. Filter lifespan and cost: The filters have a relatively short lifespan, and the cost of replacing them is relatively high. This may add some financial burden for long-term usage. 3. Coverage limitations: The air purifiers coverage is suitable for medium-sized rooms, but it may have limitations in large rooms or open spaces regarding air purification effectiveness.

> 3 dayUPDATE: We were so impressed we also purchased the Coway Airmega 400, the model that clears up to 1600 sqft in addition to the model I’m reviewing here. These are wonderful air purifiers, our air is so clean. We use the ECO mode on both and they come one and off all the time depending on the quality of the air it samples. ORIGINAL: My cat has severe respiratory problems. She has been seen by veterinarians, respiratory therapists, allergists, and internal medicine specialist veterinarians in multiple states and even with medications she’s still miserable. We dread Springtime. We’ve had air purifiers before which have helped, but not nearly enough …and then we found this one. My kitty’s nose is dry. It’s dry! For the first time in years she’s not heaving, hacking, and her nose isn’t constantly running. She’s sleeping without snoring. And it’s a Spring day! See the picture? She’s so relieved that with the exception of her visits to the cat box, I can’t peel her away from it. She’s even ignoring looking out her favorite window at the birdies. I don’t know why this is so much better than the other HEPA brands, but they’re night and day. We’re going to be buying more of them, no doubt. See her sleeping? This is what relief looks like. ❤️

> 3 dayI never write reviews but have to on this product because I had high hopes and was disappointed. As an MCS person, I find it hard to imagine that selling air filters to people who are looking to mitigate VOCs among other pollutants, it hasnt occurred to the manufacturer to offgas or outgas their components/units first PRIOR to shipping. Do they even believe in what they are selling, because I would think that would inform what they are doing. I do not know how they could advertise or ship to people w/MCS without taking this critical quality control step and checking units for VOCs PRIOR to sending it off. If the manufacturer says the plastic smell and 3 days running of VOCs comes from the packaging/shipping, then again, use conscious packaging. It just shouldnt smell like VOCs out of the box. The plastic covers on the VOC and HEPA filters will NOT stop VOCs coming off the unit from being absorbed/adsorbed into the filters. I appreciate many people cant actually smell VOCs, but just because you cant smell it doesnt mean its not having an effect. I was sad when it arrived stinky, unpackaged everything and ran the unit without filters - chemical stink. Then ran the unit with the filters - chemical stink. 3days and it still smells like VOCs/chems. I just dont get it. I dont recall my IQ Air offgassing or outgassing like this, and yes its a substantially different product but I just needed something to mitigate the halls of the junk laundry chem trails from the neighbor. Given how highly rated this product is, I dont feel hopeful about finding a unit that doesnt add to the problem from the start. To be clear, Im also providing feedback about MCS because it seems to be misunderstood by those who dont have problems with chemicals/odors or are scent blind. MCS comes from repeated chemical exposures, and is physically painful for people who are dealing with it, its not a psych problem. Though Ive always taken care due to allergies to avoid exposure to pesticides and am all organic/pastured with food (we lived in CA long enough to know better and taste the difference), I did not have MCS prior to the people above me moving in and bringing their high VOC uber-scented inhalant everything - cleaning products, swiffer solutions, laundry products, air fresheners, scented candled, etc. - so now I react to everything else in the air and its super frustrating. Do your friends and family a favor if you love inhalants, dont slather your clothes in it - you wont be able to smell it 10 mins after you dress anyway but anyone around you who is sensitive wont be able to stop smelling it, and for an MCS person the odors are repellent. MCS people are not rare, we are everywhere and have been bullied into silence by the advertisers who are selling you the right to wear or spray their junk chemicals, and we are much less likely than you think to say anything until our suffering exceeds the negativity that comes back to us with every request, no matter how graciously made. If someone is asking, almost guaranteed its not a small problem for them.

> 3 dayThe air purifier just works and the filters are pretty effective. Ive used them for over 5 years and bought many for my family. Theyve been pretty consistent and filter replacements are readily available unlike Honeywell and others that Ive tried. The Honeywell HEPA filter I had become very difficult to source replacements for and they kept discontinuing their lineups. Ive burned hundreds of dollars on them only to trash them in the end. One thing Id like to note is the new 200M Coway has an odd design for a grill instead of the older smooth part sphere that was easy to clean. Not sure why they went this way though.

> 3 dayA very nice product. Looks great and is very quiet except on high which really moves a ton of air. Most importantly, it works! I have several allergies including, unfortunately, a minor allergy to my dog. Since using this product, I notice a very substantial difference. I used to wake with stuffed sinuses and something’s a bit of breathing trouble. After two weeks, these symptoms were fine. I never believed HEPA filters could work on a room scale level, I was wrong. Room is about 300 square feet with 9 foot ceilings. Works great. Completely happy with this purchase.

> 3 dayI like the purifier it seems to work well and is easy to set up. Funnily enough, the 3 reasons I got this purifier, (my 3 cats) turn it off or change the settings very often because the buttons are on the top of the unit and easy to press. So of course, they hop on top of the unit and walk all over the buttons, changing the settings, or turning off the unit entirely. Wish there was some sort of child/pet lock to to prevent this. Aside from that very specific issue it’s great!

> 3 dayI bought my Coway back in October of 2019. At the time we lived in an apartment that was right outside a freeway and our air was disgusting. After getting the Coway, every two weeks Id end up having to vacuum a significant amount of soot off the Coways metal screen filter and the carbon filter. Before using the Coway, it was easy to see (with a flash light at night) how much stuff was floating in the air. After using the Coway, the air was clean. The unit ran on the medium setting basically 24/7 for 3 years before we moved to a nicer place with cleaner air. By the end of that 3 years, the unit was pretty gross with dust built up on the exhaust grill and right inside of it, and after the move I partially disassembled the unit and gave it a very thorough cleaning and its as good as new. I figure this unit will last for the rest of my life at this point, seems like a solid and extremely effective model and the high price was definitely worth it. This is a great unit if you have dogs that shed. It picks up a lot of hair on its own just running in your home, but its most useful when brushing my dogs. Lying my corgi right in front of it, turning the fan on high, and using a furminator to remove his loose undercoat... the hair removed just gets sucked right up into the Coway and is held there until the brushing session is done. No real need to vacuum the floor after, and such easy clean up! Cant understate how great this is.

> 3 dayI looked at various review sites and the purifier was at or near the top of every list and the price point to value was highly rated. I kinda though air purifiers were a gimmick, but I put it on my night stand and for the first time in ages, I had no congestion, no post-nasal drip, and no headache upon waking. Its been the same every night. I keep it on setting #2 and have two big stinky furry dogs and I think it helps a lot with their dander and fur and smells, especially on damp days. As others have notes, the sound is quiet on #1 and #2, but theres a huge jump in the at #3. If you like white noise, youll love it. For me #3 is a bit loud, but I crank it up during the day or when I feel my allergies bothering me. Its kind of weird looking, as if I have a mini front load washing machine on my nightstand, but I would buy it again and probably will get a model designed for larger rooms to place in my basement den. So, my takeaway is that this thing works really well, and In breathing better. The air quality sensor is a bright blue but you can turn that light off and in. I love it! Thanks for making it a little bit easier to get up each morning without the usual effects of kicked up dust, pet hair and dander causing me poor sleep and long tired days. I love it!
