This is an all metal extruder that is far more practical than the plastic extruder on many of the machines. It is well worth switching to this since the plastic ones do not hold up very well and can get worn down from filement passing through them. There is nothing more difficult to deal with than extruder problems well into a long print job. Easy to install(lots of you tube videos to show you how)

My plastic extruder got destroyed by filament going through it and cutting a hole in the tension arm. I had this up and installed in a matter of minutes. Dont get confused with the rivnut and the spring. The rivnut is **NOT** meant to thread onto that screw, its used as a way to adjust tension on the spring. Its an odd set-up, Ill admit, but its simple, and it works.

I bought this to replace the feeder that came on a super cheap 3D printer. It seems a little more difficult to assemble than one I have from a different supplier on my other printer. Once assembled, though, It is a well designed feeder and I recommend it to anyone wanting to update. The main advantage is that you can manually retract filament, as when you change colors, without spinning the stepper motor, which I have been told is to be avoided.

Yellow springs are 25mm in length. Ender 3 uses a 20mm spring so many will run into trouble there. PTFE couplers are mostly cheap junk and not quality. Ended up returning.

The plastic one that came with my ender 3v2 developed a crack and was causing under extrusion issues. I highly recommend this upgrade to prevent any issues.

I wanted to replace the plastic extruder on my Anycubic Mega S, and this looked like the way to go. I figured with a little tinkering, I could make it work. Materials and manufacturing quality are top notch. Unit actually bolted right up to the Mega S no problem. However... feed direction is reversed due to this extruder being 1:1 drive. Stock Mega S is 3:1 gear reduction. The direction problem is solved by simply reversing motor cable on the socket, but since there is no gear reduction, drive torque is reduced and I experienced filament slippage. I rate the unit 5 stars for overall quality, design, and price IF you are a Creality owner looking to upgrade from stock. This is not a good choice if you are upgrading from a 3:1 ratio extruder.

If you haven’t upgraded your extruder, this is the way to go. Although there will not be a large jump in the quality of prints. It will increase the lifetime of your extruder ten times. If you have an Ender 3, just spend the money and know your extruder will last years!

Super easy to install and infinitely better quality than the Ender 3 stock part

I was fighting my printer for weeks to get a clean print. My problem was too thin of a print or not sticking/no filament coming out. I replaced all the parts with this kit then boom, instant fix to my problems. I was close to throwing my printer out till I got this kit.

It’s much more stable and substantial than the stock part. I’m not sure why people wait for the plastic one to fail before replacing it with this. I now know my prints will not fail due to the extruder arm breaking.
