Easy to use the software suggested by the company. HDD clone to the SDD was simple and fairly quick, free download. My old Dell 630 now boots up and is ready to go in 33 seconds. Huge difference in how my applications respond. If I had another laptop I would update it as well.

I purchased this SSD on march, and installed on an old PC thats mainly used for browsing and streaming. After a couple of month the PC started having boot issues, instead of normally booting up windows it would stay stuck in preparing automatic repair. In order to ensure that it wasnt the bios of the pc or anything else apart from the drive itself that was acting up. I took out the drive and tested it in other PCs. The drive was completely unreadable, file explorer would attempt to open it and would get stuck until the program eventually stopped responding. The drive had somehow been corrupted, checking he system logs and using dskchk I was able to confirm this was the case, it also tried fixing the corrupted segments to no avail as the scan fail due to an unspecified error. I also tried using the crucial storage executive manager but that tool is terrible and it was pretty much useless since I couldnt run any tests on the drive and formatting wasnt supported.

My 2013 Macbook pro took very long to process everything. It even had problems for opening simple Word document or start browsing. I couldnt believe my expensive Macbook acted on me that way. I was so frustrated that I almost threw it to garbage!

Installed in an iMac mid 2010 3.06 GHZ Core i3. Was able to install it from their step by step instructions. Once installed the speed increase was dramatic. One thing to watch for, the Crucial drive does not come with a heat sensor, the original drive had the heat sensor built in. If you leave the heat sensor disconnected the iMac fans will run full speed at all times. You will need to purchase a heat sensor attachment from OWC, OWCDIDIMACDD09. Once I installed, the iMac fans worked perfectly with no hacking of the Fan control system.

I wish I could review this solid state drive but well I cant...I got the box for it but inside that box was an exposed hard disk from a HDD not even a whole drive just the internal part that holds the write head and disk. Was looking forward to it and made plans today around setting up a new sold state drive on my computer only to open a box of disappointment.

This sata ssd with dram is a great upgrade for older systems where nvme slot is not available. Also makes for a cheap storage upgrade option compared to hdds.
