> 3 dayThe S1A is a good filter, but be careful when ordering. If you select the 4-pk, you will be ordering a different filter due to a system glitch and may not notice - based on first hand experience.

Greater than one weekI installed this as part of a set which I assembled in an attempt to prevent the buildup of sediment at my washing machine. I am on city water, but it is VERY hard water and I found that I was cleaning out the strainer about once every few weeks. Since installing these items, I have yet to have any issues! The following has been installed for roughly 6 months: Culligan HF-150A 3/4-Inch Whole House Sediment Water Filter, Culligan S1A Level 2 20 Micron Sediment Replacement Cartridge 2 Pack, Culligan SW-2 3/4-Inch Housing Spanner Wrench, Culligan UB-1 Mounting Bracket with Screws. I recommend purchasing all these items for an application such as mine.

> 3 dayOur home water is supplied by a personal well that unfortunately comes with some brownish sediment that discolors the water and makes it taste a little too much like minerals. Completely harmless, but not very pretty, especially for company. Previously I had been looking into expensive water softeners or whole house filters in the $200+ range. Thankfully I found the little culligan whole house filter for $32 and this two pack of 20 micron filters for another $7 (so cheap!). Its been a week now, water is crystal clear. I like that I can see the filter through the casing, currently it has a light brown tinge so I know its working. Since the water has been so clear I think Ill be sticking with the cheaper and longer lasting 20 micron filters, theyre supposed to last 4 months or 16,000 gallons, putting my total filtration costs at a cool ~$12 a year, far cheaper than my initial expectations when looking into larger carbon filters or water softeners. I couldnt be happier!

Greater than one weekI cant say I noticed much difference in my water after replacing the 50 micron filter with this one because I dont have a big problem with sediment. But I am pleased that the flow rate in the house doesnt seem any different. Its been installed about 2 months now. I expect it wont last as long as the 50 version but if my water is cleaner then its worth it. UPDATE Sept. 17, 2010 I learned something the hard way -- CHANGE THE FILTER REGULARLY! I was waiting for the flow rate to go down as a sign to change this filter but it never decreased. Then a month or two ago I noticed the water starting to smell and it really got pretty bad. Im on a well so wasnt sure if it was the ground water changing but then thought of the filter. Oh my gosh, it was gross. Black & slimy & stinky and the paper had torn so the water was flowing right through with no filtering, hence no pressure loss. This was about 6 months use on a well (no chlorine) which was way way too long at it turned out. Id say the filter should be changed every 2 months.

> 3 dayI purchased this product in May 2013 to filter very fine sediments from my water well, which I use for my fogging system in the farm. At the same time, we use it also for our water consumption, so it is important to remove scale, silt and dirt. Because the fogging nozzles I am using are very sensitive to sediments that are bigger than 10 microns, I used the Culligan CP5-BBS Level 4 Heavy Duty Sediment Cartridge, enclosed in a Culligan HD-950A 1-Inch Outlet/Inlet Heavy Duty Sediment Water Filter Housing, because it filters up to 5 microns. Since then I never had problems with my fogging system. I am very impressed with the result. After 2 years of using it, I decided to write a review. While installing it 2 years ago, I was worried that this product would slow down the water flow rate, much lower than our desired 18-20 gallons per minute, which would then be detrimental to our fogging machine. But it turned out that this product has a high flow rate. Today, I am buying another 4 of this cartridge, good for another year of supply. I would definitely recommend this product together with the Culligan HD-950A water filter housing to anyone who is using a fogging system for greenhouse plants, and to anyone who has issues with the quality of their water.
