Glad I found these on Amazon subscription services. Since our well water is so rusty we need these every month and at half the cost of buying from the big box store its a great deal. I wish they would last a little longer as ours clog up so fast and when they were whirlpool brand before cullingan took them over they seemed to last longer. Overall still good for heavy sediment removal. Please let me know if this review was helpful.

The filter is a genuine Culligan brand which is great. Whats not so great is the inadequate packaging it came in-an unpadded plastic bag. I sent the 1st one back as it was totally unusable. The replacement I received appears OK, but still has some dings and dents.

Good filter for what is needed. Hot tip - if you are using filter for the house, dont panic if water squirts out the enclosure for a few seconds. The filter and enclosure seal once the enclosure has filled. I discovered this after almost an hour of frustration. Maybe Culligan could add some information like this to the packaging - the enclosure manufacturer makes no note of it!

    Greater than one week

We have a dug we’ll. Recently we noticed a brownish quality in our water pitchers. Switched to this product and we can see the difference in our crystal clear water. We’ve had one in for about three weeks: still working. Great value for the money.

We have a muddy well. These get the dirt out better than 20 micron string-wound filters, for some reason. They say not to use them on water that could potentially have bacterial contamination (some bacteria can eat the cellulose), but we havent had any problems in the several years since we switched. If you are using string-wound, give them a try and judge for yourself.

I have been using these Culligan Water Filters for years, and I usually purchased them locally, where they go for about $10 for 2 filters. It was nice to find these online at Amazon for a cheaper price - $15 for 4 filters. It looks like you can save another 5% on Subscribe & Save on these water filters too. I purchased them for $15 because I needed one right away and didnt want to wait for my Subscribe & Save day. However I have already added another set to my Subscribe & Save now, as this is definitely the best price around. Also these filters are universal, and they work just fine in my GE Whole House Water Filter (and filter a lot of sediment out of our water)! I added a few photos because the packaging seems to have changed since the first time I purchased them...

Even though not recommended for untreated well water, Ive found this filter to be highly effective. We havent had any problems. They remove much more sediment than the R50-BBSA filter (50 micron). Before switching, washing cars left a noticeable haze on the finish. Using these, that haze is almost gone. Our well supplies two houses, lawns, gardens, and up to 300 head of cattle, so it gets a workout. We use two, plumbed in parallel and getting around 6 weeks before replacement. Once they start to plug the flow rate drops off faster than the R50-BBSA. What I expect with a finer filter.
