Culligan is top notch rated when it comes to water filtration I purchased their whole house filter which in itself is exceptional because it has a bypass. This is One of two choices when we’re talking 5 µm filtration I purchased this to test out mesh versus string. No matter what the larger size is a must when you’re designing and building your own water purification system

My well is in an area with red clay soil and I have always had trouble with the toilet bowls turning a rust color soon after cleaning them. I tried several other filters, but none worked for long. These do work well and last for a few months. There are not nearly as many pleats in the filter as what is shown in the picture. The label says not recommended for use with untreated well water, which I was told was because there are certain bacteria that could be in the water that eat the paper and cause the filter to fail. I must not have them in my water, but I put a screen strainer in the line before it goes into the house just in case.

These filters are the Culligan brand. They are the real thing Saved us a trip to the hardware store. Will buy again if needed.

This was a replacement for my reverse osmosis under-sink filter. It worked perfectly, fit well, and the water tastes great!

The original CP5-BBS cellulose cartridges I previously purchased and used performed well in our whole-house, big blue filter housing. They maintained their shape and kept the output water sediment-free. The currently manufactured filter cartridges do not maintain that performance, and apparently Culligan knows that. If you read the current label from the manufacturer, it states that the cartridge is NOT recommended for use with untreated well water. It also says the filter cartridges are assembled in China. (I do not know if that is a contributing reason, but merely add that observation.) I find the cellulose material in the current batch of filters quickly saturates, gets soft and mushy, and falls apart. The outer filter material collapses and renders the filter useless, while the inner diameter structure remains intact. Consequently, the filter cartridge must be replaced much more frequently than in the past. Past filters DID provide the labeled 3 months cartridge life; the current filters must be changed after 4-5 weeks, under the same water demands. When initially installed, these filters do filter out the offending sediment from our well water. They just do not last! Ill finish using the filters I have in-hand, at the much shorter useful life, and find a more robust designed filter cartridge filter for the future.

We have always used these - purchased in a hardware store previously. This was a good price for this purchase on line.

We use this at our home in the mountains. The well water is laden with iron and unless the water is filtered or run consistently, it is not usable. It serves its purpose. If we are only there for a couple days, we remove the filter and I hose each panel off to reuse again. This only works once before the filter paper degrades.

after finding out that bleach would only make the problem worse, we started using this household filter to keep our clothes and drinking water nice and clean. And now, we can even drink the water from the tap!! Plus, its alot cheaper than installing a whole house filter. quite the miracle worker if you ask me!!! If you have liquid iron in your water like we do, try this one out!! you WILL be happy!
