Greater than one weekI decided to take on the challenge of building a cutting board from scratch for my lovely wife. I watched many videos on how to properly seal and give longevity to the well manicured butcher block. A friend of mine suggested, “try walrus oil”. This sounded highly illegal and inhumane. In the southeastern region of the United States, this particular mammal is considered ultra rare, however, squirrels are plentiful. I hunted early in the morning and captured a dray of squirrels. I don’t believe in waste so I cleaned them and made biscuits and gravy from my great grandmothers recipe book. I rendered the fat to a fine oil. 12 squirrels provided enough to coat one board and feed my family of 2. Because I am a cutting board novice, I didn’t think it through and the blood soaked butcher block was resisting the squirrel oil. I resanded the boards and after noticing google had monitored my search history an add for this product appeared. I was shocked walrus oil was bottled and sold. I read the contents and this actually contains zero walrus material. Relieved, but feeling duped, I ordered a bottle. It went on with ease and gave the boards a perfect shine. Animal lovers like me, have no fear, this product is not what you think! It’s better!

> 3 daythis works sooo much better than just a bottle of food grade mineral oil. It is a thicker liquid, just a dab on the board, then spread entire board with a cloth. As for me, I half a new 1 thick cutting board, and I am leaving a thin coat on the surface for a few weeks, to really let the oil soak in. Once a day I take the same cloth and smear the oil around, look closely every day and you will see areas that are thirsty for more oil.

> 3 dayI was looking for a safe, easy way to preserve and protect my wooden cutting board. This product was simple to use, and my board looked great afterward. I wish I would have bought it sooner!

> 3 dayI forgot to take a before photo but this product brought new life to my collection of vintage teak items. I did a fair amount of research before selecting this product, because I didnt want to cause any damage to the wood. I used a tea towel and was able to treat all of these items with multiple coats using only half the bottle! The wood drank up the moisture and restored the beautiful wood grain textures and color to its original vibrance! And now they have another great protective layer for many more dinners to come! My only complaint was that the oil comes out of the bottle super fast, but it only took a few tries to get the hang of how hard to squeeze the bottle (I ended up just tipping it to the side and letting it pour out on its own). I also bought the wax for my cutting boards and my cheese dome to protect it from the elements when sitting in the fridge.

> 3 dayThis board was severely neglected. Its owner forgot it and left it outdoors for a year. No amount of oil will fix the warping and expansion this little guy endured, but after a thorough washing and oiling, it can have a new life in my kitchen for cleaving. This oil has a neutral smell and is pretty viscous. This poor little board drank a little less than 1/4th cup, but seems happy now.

> 3 dayBest way to preserve your cutting boards and any other raw wood items in your home. May turn some light woods slightly darker on first application but does fade over time as it is fully absorbed.
