Dyson V12 Detect Slim Cordless Vacuum Cleaner

Sucks like crazy. Different levels, cool. Digital read out. The dust head/laser thing is awesome. Who knew the floors were this dusty! Uncarpeted floors, great! Problem: Canister does not hold a lot of dirt. Any big clean day with lots of carpets and you need many trips to the trash bin. Problem 2: The filter clogs up often (read out: Airway blocked!). That takes running filter under water to flush out dust and dirt and set it down to dry for over 24 hrs. I am thinking this vacuum might be good as a second vacuum to a more serious workhorse. Or for someone who has NO carpeting. Otherwise Im thinking...was it worth over $500.

The many hundreds of dollars you spend on this product do not cover a manual. Yes, you can go online and print one out at your own expense. But having a nicely printed bound manual for this complicated product would have been much better.

Perfect for me. I thought the laser/light was a bit ridiculous but now it is one of my most important tools. I have two dogs whose fluff nearly matches my floor and the light has made it so much easier to find all the fur on the first pass. I had the V10 animal but I was constantly missing fluff reservoirs that I would only see as the sunlight shifted throughout the day. The V12 is light and very maneuverable, which is exactly what I need. The canister is definitely smaller than the other models but I can live with that.

I’ve owned this V12 for only an hour, but if first impressions are everything, I’m in love! Didn’t even need instructions to figure how to assemble and use. Straight out of the box and at about 20% battery, this vacuum sucked the life INTO my carpet by sucking out all the nasty stuff! I previously vacuumed with a Dyson ball, so I was shocked to see the cup fill up with just a quick once over in my living room. The vacuum is incredibly lightweight, powerful suction, flexible with the toolset, able to reach in places previous Dyson couldn’t! I never thought I’d spend $500 on a vacuum, but I couldn’t be more happy to give Dyson money for this incredible yet powerful machine!

Hands down the best vacuum I’ve ever used. I like to turn off all the lights in the house and use the laser to make sure the house is completely spotless! Battery life is better than any shark I’ve used.

Is it an efficient vacuum? You bet. My wife loves it. She uses it nearly every day because it is so easy to manage. HOWEVER, emptying the bin and the occasional washing of the filter does not remove all the dust and grime accumulated within the vacuum. We have had it for two months. Today was the second time cleaning the filter. I noticed a lot of dust coming out of the vacuum with a brief shake. That was only the beginning. I emptied over two cups of dust that had accumulated inside. Needless to say this would gravely effect efficiency. You must disassemble the vacuum to remove all dust and best to blow it out using an air tank.

Seriously, did I think it needed a headlight? No! Was I wrong? Yes! Never would I have thought that the kids would have argued about who gets to drive this machine around the house. Then they get mad when I take it away from them. The only broom this house will see again is when my mother-in-law lands for a visit. 10 Stars!!

We cleaned a rug and hardwood floors in which the product for its weight worked fantastic..the floors came out clean including the sideboards..the battery worked great on economy but higher up steps will burn it faster and may not finish the job ??overall it’s a very good product!!
