> 24 hourLets get this out of the way- You get a very nice picture out of this. 1080p is easy for it of course and Ive really enjoyed watching The Mandalorian in 4k. This is hooked up to a PC and Ive found that a 92 desktop is entirely usable with 4k. Physically the projector is a bit beefy. I wouldnt call it light however I didnt have much trouble ceiling mounting it by myself. It is plenty bright and even with lights on I tend to keep it on the lower settings without issue. As I said, beefy, so keep that in mind when purchasing a mount. I have the cheap one I was using for a smaller projector and not only is it probably a little to light duty for this, the mounting footprint isnt big enough and I can only get three of the arms to reach the projector holes. I advise not skimping and get something rock solid which will make your setup for aiming and focus a lot easier. Speaking of aiming I love the manual lens shift which is a first for me. It allows so much freedom of where you mount it. There is a lot of range in the zoom to so I didnt have to move my existing mount. My only real complaint is the lack of connectivity. My Epson LS100 has an network port so I can tie it in with my home automation while this doesnt even have a serial port. I bought the wireless adapter thinking that would give me what I need but it was only after contacting support that I was told it is only for media streaming and did not provide control. This is a must have feature for me so it leaves me a little disappointed. Other than that I did have some flakiness in a long HDMI cable but a repeater fixed that. Epson makes good hardware and Id recommend this to anyone with the caveat that you do your research. Know about the connectivity, get a good mount, then enjoy the picture.

> 24 hourThe flexibility is excellent, the optical lens shifting, full corner pinning and large zoom range, making the projectors placement extremely flexible. I have been using it for outdoor movies this summer, projecting to a 145 screen with ease. The three chip LCD design means no rainbow artifacts -- I replaced a DLP projector, as even slight rainbowing detracts from my movie experience. The colors are good, but just a tad less saturated in the default configuration as compared with the BenQ DLP I replaced. Eight movies later, Ive very happen with this purchase.

> 24 hourI upgraded from the Epson 2150 (1080p and 2500 brightness), and instantly noticed a difference in brightness. This is a 4k projector, but its technically only a half-4k, since it shifts the image one pixel over every other frame to make the upgraded image -- and 4k technically is 4x 1080p, not 2x -- but that said almost nobody is going to notice anyways, and this is an upgrade from the 1080p -- just know its not true 4k. There are a couple of additional nice things on this projector -- it can connect to bluetooth speakers (amazing feature, i used to use this via the apple tv directly to get the same result), it has a usb port that can provide enough power for roku/firetv etc which prevents having to have an adapter. The optical horizontal/vertical tilt is amazing, helps line up the picture and not sacrifice any brightness or quality (or the dreaded overbleed for light on your screen). A great budget 4k projector, best ive used so far.

> 24 hourI recently replaced by 11 year old Mitsubishi projector with the Epson 3200 for my media room. However, after a short time I decided to return the 3200 due to internal dust on the lens and dissatisfaction with the black (or in this case gray) levels. I then upgraded to the 3800 and I am extremely happy. The contrast improvement between the 3200 and 3800 was immediately noticeable. The colors, contrast and sharpness are fantastic. While this is not a true 4k projector, it is miles ahead of my old Mitsubishi projector and an improvement over the Epson 3200.

> 24 hourThis isnt the flagship Epson project but for the price I think it is an excellent value and hits a sweet spot balance of price and performance. The projector isnt as large as some of the other higher end models which I find is a plus. It is easier to mount and isnt as visible in a smaller room. The 4K picture is not quite the best 4K experience Ive seen but it is very close and considering the price it is good enough for me. It is bright even in rooms with lots of windows. I really like the colors. Very vivid if you like it that way. Relatively quiet I find it does produce a good amount of heat like most projectors do. I can heat up a smaller room so be sure there is plenty of ventilation. 5 stars.

> 24 hourThis Epson 3200 projector finds an excellent balance between price and performance. Of course, there are more expensive projectors with more features and better contrast ratios, but this one is an excellent choice for most people who want to casually watch movies or play games in a family room or outside on summer nights. This is not a truly native 4K projector. It uses a technology called pixel shifting to effectively double the resolution of a 1080p LCD. If you have a 1080p video source, pixel shifting will make the image just a little sharper, but the beauty of this projector is that it accepts a true 4K input which allows the pixel shifting technology to really shine. The picture quality and sharpness is amazing. When its in 4K mode with a 4K video source, it looks MUCH better than 1080p. Its not quite as good as a native 4K projector (which are still VERY expensive), but its surprisingly close to it. Contrast is pretty good in the proper conditions (a dark room), but suffers a bit if theres ambient light in the room. Youll have to pay more if you want a 100,000:1 or even 1,000,000:1 contrast ratio to get good blacks with some ambient light. There are two HDMI inputs, both of which support 4K HDR at 60fps, with full 10-bit HDR. Audio out is only a stereo mini jack, so if you want to play movies through your surround sound system youll have to take the audio from the source into your stereo, and just feed video to this projector. With some video players this may not be an option, so to solve this problem there are inexpensive HDMI audio splitters available on Amazon if you want to go this route. Just search for HDMI audio extractor. The projector is 3D capable but I dont have any 3D glasses so I cant rate how that works. It seems like 3D isnt being supported much these days, but if you have a 3D library and a set of glasses, its great that you can get some life out of them with this projector. The only downside to this projector is that the fan is pretty loud when the lamp is on full brightness. You wouldnt want to be sitting right next to it while watching a movie because the fan noise would be distracting. You can use ECO mode which reduces the brightness and reduces the fan noise if that suits your setup better. ECO mode reduces the power consumption from 386W to 291W, and also has the benefit of extending your lamp life from 3500 hours to 5000 hours. A replacement lamp (part V13H010L85) can be purchased for about $110, which is pretty reasonable. You can replace the lamp yourself fairly easily. The product manual explains how to do it step by step. Overall, this is an excellent quality projector from EPSON and youd be hard pressed to find a better image quality at this price point. The pixel shifting technology gives you about 80-90% of the quality of a true native 4K projector at a much more budget friendly price.

> 24 hourThis thing is amazing!!! The picture is bright, the colors are incredible, and the blacks are as black as I’ve seen in a projector! All that and I only use it outdoors where there’s plenty of ambient light. The projection is so bright I was able to watch a movie before sunset. Great product! Thank you!

> 24 hourUnless you are one of those excruciatingly fussy technophiles with Rolls Royce bank account, I cant imagine a better value in video projectors. This machine delivers the sort of knockout quality image that could not fail to impress this cinephile. I have made my way through a succession of these devices, since the 90s, and this one provides a viewing experience beyond my wildest dreams.

> 24 hourI have owned literally a dozen projectors but the only ones still used daily in my home are all Epsons due to their quality, ease of use, and price point. The family room has a UST Epson that is brilliant for its use case but it lacks 4K. 4K is reserved for the proper theater room and thats where the 3800 comes in. The 3800 hits a great price point for its performance. Its not as elegant as the 5040 since it lacks the automatic lens controls (which are so handy) but if your install is fairly simple then the 3800 gives you virtually the same picture quality at a fraction of the cost of the 5040. Its plenty bright for a theater room and will even work well in a family room after dark but if you dont have any light control then it will struggle in rooms with excessive windows during the day. Image purists will argue that Epson doesnt have true 4K due to their pixel shifting, however plenty of reviews will tell. you the same thing, you just need to see it in person and decide for yourself if you can see the different. Price wise it is still a big jump in cost to get a real 4K projector and even after paying that price you wont get one that can put out the number of lumens that this 3800 can. This is a perfect family home theater room projector at a good price. Its not a $5k or $15k Sony thats going in some high end custom theater but it will blow the family away in any modest home theater. Im running this on a 135 screen in a theater room with no windows. Its quiet, plenty bright, beautiful colors and simply great for the price point. If you own a 1080P projector and have access to 4K content on streaming services then I highly recommend taking the plunge and upgrading to see what youve been missing.
