24-11-2024This projector came packaged in a very odd way. The projector was listed as new but clearly it had either been used or unpacked from its original packaging and repackaged in other boxes/materials. I feel like we overpaid for it considering the condition it was delivered in but overall the projector seems to work fine. A few minor glitches but the picture quality is great so were keeping it.

Greater than one weekEpson 3800 4K HDR projector is not really a 4K projector. But it’s amazing and beautiful when you compare other 4K projectors in this price range. Brightness, HDR colors and contrast are absolutely great in this Epson 3800 Projector. It’s really a magical cinematic experience. I just connected it with my amazon firestick and the picture quality is awesome when I watch 4k movies from amazon, Netflix, hulu and even in YouTube. Other brands 4k projectors may be little more sharper than this projector. But no one can not beat the color, brightness and contrast of this Epson 3800 and the lens shift, keystone options are really helpful for set up. Constraints : Remote control is too big. Lens shift and keystone options are manual. HDR is not adjusting automatically. We need to setup manually based on the video content.

> 3 dayA couple of years ago, I decided I wanted a home theater in my basement. The first machine I tried was so noisy that I couldnt focus on the movie. I returned it and was told I needed to spend $4K or more for a quiet one. I ordered this one with the hope that it was as quiet as it claimed to be. I had to wait for months to get it but once I did, I set it up immediately. AWESOME! Seriously, it is awesome. I project a 120 inch picture that is sharper than my 4K tv. I love it. Setup was very quick and worked first try. I will update the review if I have any issues.

> 3 dayThis projector is Epsons mid level Pro UHD projector. Its a wonderful value for what you get. With 3000 lumens of brightness, 100,000:1 contrast ratio and horizontal and vertical lens shift. Its a great value for its price range.

> 3 dayWe are very happy with our purchase. We painted our white wall to a light grey to use as our projector screen and it works very well. A massive upgrade from our previous short throw projector. If you’re looking for a home projector to stream movies or play games, this is a good buy.

> 3 dayGreat projector. Works very well with an awesome picture. Mounting holes are non-standard so was a little difficult finding a mount that would work with it. Everything else with it is great.

> 3 dayI replaced my 7 year old Epson 8350 with this 3800. The picture is simply amazing - bright and clear. I did not think I would need the HLG capability for upscaling with YouTube TV, but glad it has it because the picture with the HDR is not really nice to view from YouTube TV on the FireTV Cube - too bright and not as much fine detail as when placing it in HLG mode. Glad i thought ahead: You must have a HDMI cable rated for 4K to hook to the FireTV Cube or it will not work with your AVR 2.2 HDMI input - it flickers and you can an error message saying it will not broadcast the 4K video. Buy two cables while you at it because you will need one from your AVR to the projector and one from your Cube to AVR - if you try to use non-4K cables it aint gonna work with the Cube.

> 3 dayJust got this projector replacing my Panasonic 720p projector which worked nicely for 15 years but now with 4K content available I thought I would get this to start with watching the Super Bowl. First impression is it’s amazing upgrading from the 720p. Colors are rich and crisp. Lots of keystone adjustments available to fix the alignment since my previous projector was not aligned center of the room and I used the same ceiling frame to hang this projector. Couldn’t step away watching a movie or HD/4K content. I am still using a very old HDMI cable and yet getting very good picture - not sure if I have to upgrade it. Overall, after two days of using it, just impressed how good the experience is. Will know more after tomorrow’s super bowl game. Definitely recommend over buying a large OLED TV.
