Epson Home Cinema 3200 4K PRO-UHD 3-Chip Projector with HDR

The screen from the beginning would not focus on all 4 corners. I have this ceiling mounted, and I suspect the lens is not designed to be mounted from the ceiling. If the text at the top of the screen was in focus, the text at the bottom would be slightly out of focus. This happened with 2 projectors (sent the first one back for a replacement). The replacement lasted 10 months. I will report back after I go through the warranty process with Epson. If that goes well, I might adjust my review positively. Customer service is important.

This projector is Epsons mid level Pro UHD projector. Its a wonderful value for what you get. With 3000 lumens of brightness, 100,000:1 contrast ratio and horizontal and vertical lens shift. Its a great value for its price range.

This projector offers 4K HDR and 3D. It is not native 4K but instead uses a 1080p array and some clever technology to achieve 4K. Nonetheless, the result looks very accurate and detailed. For the price, this is a great way to achieve near native 4K resolution. I didnt have any technical issues in use and the remote was straightforward to use. Likewise, I didnt notice any image artifacts in use. With HDR, the picture is bright but a decent screen is needed if there is ambient light. It is rather large and heavy compared to 1080p projectors so that could be an issue for some.

I recently replaced by 11 year old Mitsubishi projector with the Epson 3200 for my media room. However, after a short time I decided to return the 3200 due to internal dust on the lens and dissatisfaction with the black (or in this case gray) levels. I then upgraded to the 3800 and I am extremely happy. The contrast improvement between the 3200 and 3800 was immediately noticeable. The colors, contrast and sharpness are fantastic. While this is not a true 4k projector, it is miles ahead of my old Mitsubishi projector and an improvement over the Epson 3200.

I bought a new Epson Home Cinema 3800. It came WITHOUT warranty brochure. In addition, the projector was wrapped with a thin foam sheet taped with adhesive tapes. How do I know that this is a new projector instead of a refurbished?

Super nice projector but I am returning. Seems to have an extremely annoying brightness shifting during scenes. Ive tried the different color modes, Ive tried the different Image Enhancement modes. Ive also tried searching through the menus to see if there is anything that would cause the brightness shifting. Cant figure it out, sad Im returning it. Great picture quality and nice and quiet on Cinema and Natural setting.

Before I had this, I had a BenQ w1070. My biggest complaint with that scream was that the room had to be pitch black to not look washed out. The picture quality was fine. The Epson 3800 has a wonderful picture quality. The blacks look black and the colors seem realistic. Most important, I have used this projector with a lot of ambient light, both from lamps and overhead lights as well as daylight. It looks great. It doesn’t look washed out at all. The frame rate is tremendous and seems steady.

Very pleased with the quality of this projector. The picture is very sharp. Just what we needed to complete our movie room!

I upgraded from the Epson 2150 (1080p and 2500 brightness), and instantly noticed a difference in brightness. This is a 4k projector, but its technically only a half-4k, since it shifts the image one pixel over every other frame to make the upgraded image -- and 4k technically is 4x 1080p, not 2x -- but that said almost nobody is going to notice anyways, and this is an upgrade from the 1080p -- just know its not true 4k. There are a couple of additional nice things on this projector -- it can connect to bluetooth speakers (amazing feature, i used to use this via the apple tv directly to get the same result), it has a usb port that can provide enough power for roku/firetv etc which prevents having to have an adapter. The optical horizontal/vertical tilt is amazing, helps line up the picture and not sacrifice any brightness or quality (or the dreaded overbleed for light on your screen). A great budget 4k projector, best ive used so far.

Looked great besides it being defective. Refurbished is a gamble.
