> 3 dayThis is our first time using a home theater projector and we love it. We’re able to project a massive 130+” picture and still retain great brightness in a room which is not purpose built for projectors...one of our bedrooms. The picture attached is an initial test, not even at HDR brightness. Picture is solid, bright and HUGE. Setup was literally plug and play with some minor focusing + and adjustments of the lens + feet. Doesn’t have any “smart tv” capabilities but that’s fine, we’re using an Apple TV 4K and it works great. Comes with decent speakers which was surprising, definitely not room filling action movie sound but good enough for some basic video watching. My only “con” to this projector is lack of Dolby Vision. A lot of Apple TV content (Apple TV+, Disney+, Netflix, Amazon Prime Video) is at Dolby Vision quality while this projector is at HDR 10, not a deal breaker but would have preferred Dolby Vision capability are this price point. Still, the picture is GREAT...not LED/OLED bright but the size this thing projects at, the picture quality and the cinematic brightness (you really don’t need eye piercing brightness when watching in dark) really come together in a solid projector package. You’ll be very happy with this purchase.

> 3 dayThe projector has converted one of our room upstairs into a movie theater. I am going to keep the review to basics for everyone to easily satisfy their most common use case - watching variety of movies at home with readily available stuff at home. It connects with our bluetooth sound far, the picture rate is fast moving and bright - even with the sun coming in from the windows in the room, there are ample adjustments to adjust the horizontal and vertical pictures, the zoom and the sharpness, we have plugged in a chromecast in the back, and can simply stream using any device with the chromecast - meaning netflix/prime from iphone/ipad works, the supplied remote works great. We have seen all sorts of movies and shows including action, sports, cartoons, music videos, documentaries. The inbuilt speakers are handy - of course, much better to connect with other home theater speakers or sound bars. (If I were to pick one thing to improve - the protective cap for the projector lens - have it attached with a cord or have a slide on cover mechanism so that we dont have to keep track of it when you remove and kludge put it back on. ) This projector is not even comparable to our earlier old projector - difference of day and night. The family actually wants to use the media room now to see movies.

> 3 dayI tried many others but finally settled on this, little pricey but thats worth spending. Picture quality is much better than DLP ones like ViewSoinc or Optoma.

> 3 dayI upgraded from the Epson 2150 (1080p and 2500 brightness), and instantly noticed a difference in brightness. This is a 4k projector, but its technically only a half-4k, since it shifts the image one pixel over every other frame to make the upgraded image -- and 4k technically is 4x 1080p, not 2x -- but that said almost nobody is going to notice anyways, and this is an upgrade from the 1080p -- just know its not true 4k. There are a couple of additional nice things on this projector -- it can connect to bluetooth speakers (amazing feature, i used to use this via the apple tv directly to get the same result), it has a usb port that can provide enough power for roku/firetv etc which prevents having to have an adapter. The optical horizontal/vertical tilt is amazing, helps line up the picture and not sacrifice any brightness or quality (or the dreaded overbleed for light on your screen). A great budget 4k projector, best ive used so far.

> 3 daySuper nice projector but I am returning. Seems to have an extremely annoying brightness shifting during scenes. Ive tried the different color modes, Ive tried the different Image Enhancement modes. Ive also tried searching through the menus to see if there is anything that would cause the brightness shifting. Cant figure it out, sad Im returning it. Great picture quality and nice and quiet on Cinema and Natural setting.

> 3 dayWe placed the unit about 18’ away from the screen wall, and the diagonal is about 160”. Even stretched to this size it is as clear or better than my 70” flatscreen! Never expected it to look this good.

> 3 dayMy TV is LG OLED and old projector is Optoma HD39Darbee. After I purchased OLED tv, I could not watch Optoma 1080p projector anymore. Enter Epson 3800. Now I do have a choice, I like both options, depending on the mood. What is interesting is that Epson3800s info section says it is 4K resolution projector. I tried ``True 4K Optoma Uhd38 and its info section says it is 1080p. HD39Darbee is actually better UHD38 in color and the resolution perception for me. But Epson 3800 is a principally refinement and is a clear motivation for me to move into the 4K area of projectors. The colors are outstanding, the resolution is excellent for me, not annoying, it definitely provides a 3D feeling to the 4K HDR picture. The setup is OK, a lot of lens shifting. So, if someone wants to move into the 4K area of projectors, Epson 3800 is my first recommendation (if not to look into $5000+ area).

Greater than one weekThis projector offers 4K HDR and 3D. It is not native 4K but instead uses a 1080p array and some clever technology to achieve 4K. Nonetheless, the result looks very accurate and detailed. For the price, this is a great way to achieve near native 4K resolution. I didnt have any technical issues in use and the remote was straightforward to use. Likewise, I didnt notice any image artifacts in use. With HDR, the picture is bright but a decent screen is needed if there is ambient light. It is rather large and heavy compared to 1080p projectors so that could be an issue for some.
