> 24 hourIll begin this review with a little history, In 1981, I bought a Eureka upright vacuum cleaner. I used it continuously until LAST WEEK—yes, 39 years! Even the headlights still work! I finally decided to replace my 1981 model, however, when the on/off switch broke last week, permanently stuck in the ON position. I went online to Amazon and saw this vacuum cleaner from the same manufacturer, Eureka, on sale for a super-low Black Friday price. I ordered it without hesitation, looking forward to graduating from bagful to bagless technology. The new Eureka arrived today. I immediately unpacked it, read the instruction manual, performed the simple assembly steps, and tried it out. I love it! First, its very lightweight and maneuverable. Its easy to push around, and its so lightweight that I can comfortably use it with its attachments in quasi-cannister mode to vacuum our stairs. Its notably lighter than my old Panasonic cannister vacuum cleaner (yes, also a 1981 model that Im still using!), which is the vacuum I had previously used on the stairs. The height adjustment goes from bare, hard floors to thick shag carpet in five settings. I tried the two extremes today: our bare kitchen floor and our thick living room carpet. The vacuum cleaner performed well in both extremes, providing a powerful and effective suction. This model has several accessories, which attach cleverly and securely to the unit for storage and convenient use. The foot controls, for power and handle release, are big and easy to operate with your foot. The dust cup, as they call it—and its much bigger than a cup!—was easy to detach and empty into the garbage. The only thing Im missing (just a little!) are the headlights. I bought the model NEU182A, which does not have headlights. I didnt think about this issue when I pressed the BUY button, and it probably wouldnt have stopped me from buying anyway, given the excellent price. I expect to do just fine without headlights. As Ive had the vacuum cleaner for just one day, I cant vouch for its durability. But if I get just one-fourth the lifetime I got with my old Eureka, I will be very happy indeed.

> 24 hour...just like its designed to. My ex bought one of those $1000 door to door sold monstrosities (long story, dont ask) and it was a complete and utter disappointing nightmare. When he left, it went with him. Needing a replacement, I found this and Ive been quite pleased. Its lightweight and easy to maneuvre around the room. The canister is quick and easy to empty and clean, as are the filters. My only annoyance is it isnt as easy to use on the stairs as Id like... or I havent figured that part out yet. All in all, happy with the purchase. And I dont dread vacuuming anymore.

> 24 hourI like this vacuum so far. I only used it once. I purchased the warranty. For some reason the handle on the top is missing its topper. We looked all over in the box . We literally just opened the box and its nowhere to be found. Not sure if Ill do a serious complaint or just deal with it . The suction for the first round worked great. Very lite weight. I dont believe itll be hard with stairs. The cord for reaching isnt that long . I believe this vacuum could be cheaper.

> 24 hourI bought this because my $700 roomba gets stuck on my long shag rug and I needed a vacuum just for that. Can I just say WOW!? This thing works so well on that rug! I also use it on my sofa, and I use it after my roomba sometimes and it picks up more. You cant get a better vacuum at this price point!

> 24 hourThis vacuum has great suction and is really lightweight (my initial thought was that it looks cheap but I felt better about it when I saw how well the suction is). If I could change anything, I wish it had a headlight in the front like my previous vacuum, because that helps to see dirt in tight places, and Id prefer a little bit longer cord (just comparing to my previous Shark vac which didnt require me to change outlets as often). Otherwise, I like the size of the attachment brushes for my stairway, it gets dirt around edges really well and for the price point, I feel like it is a good vacuum.

> 24 hourI always thought you had to buy one of those super expensive vacuum cleaners before you could get one that worked halfway decent and even then I just couldnt see paying out that much money but now that they have come out with these bagless type vacuum cleaners it seems that they have actually come up with a solid product. I had let my bedroom floor (carpet) get real bad because my nieces started using the regular vacuum cleaner and I just dont have any words for how nasty it has been treated. Cats that wont use the litter box and any spills, etc. they just leave it and refuse to clean up and they are grown, in their 20s almost 30 so there is no excuse for that. They will sit up all night on the computer playing games until almost daylight, refuse to work then I might get some quiet time for me maybe between 6am and 10am is pushing it and they will eventually use the other vacuum cleaner and make a couple of passes where they sit in the living room and that is it so I finally just bought another vacuum cleaner to keep in my closet and not for their use. I could not believe that a vacuum cleaner that cost me less than $100 out performed a Bissel that my grandmother had paid hundreds of dollars for. It cleaned my bedroom carpet wonderfully and when I looked into the clear canister that you just lift off and empty when needed, I could see that it had sucked up super fine particles of dirt that no other vacuum cleaner I have ever seen would have done. It has 3 speeds you can use and is so light weight that is doesnt wear you out if you needed to do more than the one room like I did. I highly recommend this product and after trying it out I went ahead and ordered an extra belt and cleaning pads for the canister since I can tell this one will be lasting me quite a while.

> 24 hourOnly had it 1 day so far but we like it. Our last vacation, a Shark Duoclean sucked, but not in the way a vacuum is supposed to. Really lightweight and gets the hair out of our area rugs great. If I had 1 complaint its that the hose is kind of short, but we have a cordless dustbuster. For the price, you cant beat it, Eureka is a well established company and they know how to make a vacuum. The other problem with our Shark was its top heavy and couldnt stand up on its own. I ended up paying $50 on sale and with accumulated points so no complaints here. You could spend $600 or more and it wont be much better than this, in my opinion

> 24 hourI purchased this as it listed it was good for thick carpet. We couldnt even push it forward without a lot of force. The suction power on regular carpet was not good either. We used our Shark in comparison and we decided this is not for us. Too late to send back but itll be donated to someone who will use it. Dont purchase if you actually want your carpets clean.

> 24 hourI wasn’t satisfied with the light weight “stick” type vacuum cleaners though they were easy to operate. This one is much heavier and harder to maneuver but the suction is much better. My one fairly large rug looks clean now! We have 5 cats which is mostly why I upgraded to the Eureka!
