I purchased this vacuum for about $70 and it works great for the price. I mostly have hardwood flooring, but it works pretty well on rugs and sucking up hair.

I literally can’t handle the loudness of this vacuum. I will say we live in a home with all hardwood and laminate flooring. There’s no carpeting to muffle or quiet the sound of the vacuum. I rarely ever leave less than a 5 star review on something, because I myself obsessively check reviews so usually when I order things I know all the ins and outs of the product before it’s arrival. Although I got this for a steal of a price ($74) it is so loud it scares my (always loud and fearless) toddlers, and the base / head of this thing HUGE in comparison to other vacuums I’ve had most recently. I religiously use a cordless moosoo vacuum and compared to that, this thing is literally 3x as loud, and looks like a giant fossil beside the cordless. I purchased this because I wanted an option to be able to plug in and not wait to charge but I definitely will not be grabbing for this unless I desperately need something. Pros: the dust cup is huge. Very easy to assemble. Great suction. Light and easy to carry Pro & con: lightweight Cons: louder than a day At the racetrack without ear plugs. Very old school / not sleek at all design. So lightweight that it Falls over when trying to use the hose to vacuum things (and usually wails you in the head or body somewhere) If given the option, I would not repurchase. I honestly would have returned due to the loudness alone if it wasn’t for it being such a hassle due to being a big item.

I liked how much hair it picks up but I feel it could do better picking up dry rice etc. Overall a very good vacuum for a family.

I appreciate reading the reviews for this vacuum cleaner as it helped me make my decision. Vacuum cleaners are tricky things in this world and we want to buy the one which will pick up quickly, with good suction and make our lives easier. This one does. It weighs 10 pounds and of course is all plastic and it maneuvers fine for me, I dont need any extra special maneuvering applications. It also fits through my chair legs so I dont have to move a great deal to get the dust out from underneath. I have St Bernard, Husky and Collie hairs to pick up and this does a very good job of sucking it all up into an extra large container. This gets filled up quickly with room to spare. The vacuum also fits next to the washing machine so I can put it exactly where I want it. So far, one of the best suction devices I have used for dog hair and dust at a very good price. It ticks all the boxes for me. Highly recommended.

Ill begin this review with a little history, In 1981, I bought a Eureka upright vacuum cleaner. I used it continuously until LAST WEEK—yes, 39 years! Even the headlights still work! I finally decided to replace my 1981 model, however, when the on/off switch broke last week, permanently stuck in the ON position. I went online to Amazon and saw this vacuum cleaner from the same manufacturer, Eureka, on sale for a super-low Black Friday price. I ordered it without hesitation, looking forward to graduating from bagful to bagless technology. The new Eureka arrived today. I immediately unpacked it, read the instruction manual, performed the simple assembly steps, and tried it out. I love it! First, its very lightweight and maneuverable. Its easy to push around, and its so lightweight that I can comfortably use it with its attachments in quasi-cannister mode to vacuum our stairs. Its notably lighter than my old Panasonic cannister vacuum cleaner (yes, also a 1981 model that Im still using!), which is the vacuum I had previously used on the stairs. The height adjustment goes from bare, hard floors to thick shag carpet in five settings. I tried the two extremes today: our bare kitchen floor and our thick living room carpet. The vacuum cleaner performed well in both extremes, providing a powerful and effective suction. This model has several accessories, which attach cleverly and securely to the unit for storage and convenient use. The foot controls, for power and handle release, are big and easy to operate with your foot. The dust cup, as they call it—and its much bigger than a cup!—was easy to detach and empty into the garbage. The only thing Im missing (just a little!) are the headlights. I bought the model NEU182A, which does not have headlights. I didnt think about this issue when I pressed the BUY button, and it probably wouldnt have stopped me from buying anyway, given the excellent price. I expect to do just fine without headlights. As Ive had the vacuum cleaner for just one day, I cant vouch for its durability. But if I get just one-fourth the lifetime I got with my old Eureka, I will be very happy indeed.

Replaced a VERY old vacuum cleaner for use low pile carpet & area rugs in my garden level rooms. It was pretty easy to assemble, and is probably okay for the price, which is cheap, it works adequately for the lowest, less trafficked area of the house, not sturdy enough or glides well enough for stair use. It doesnt roll over my low pile rugs easily either, but good enough for what I need it for. I do wish I had paid a little more for a better quality.

I had a very expensive vacuum, a canister style with bags, for about 9 years. Then one day I was taking it out of the closet and dropped the canister onto a tile floor, and ... then I did not have a vacuum LOL. So I came to Amazon to see whats what and decided that I would just get the cheapest vacuum that got decent reviews! This was the one. Its a big change from the canister with bags, and I do like just emptying the dirt compartment and not having to change the bag!! I miss the retractable cord I had on my old one, and I miss that I could get all the way under the bed with the old one... but other than that.. this is a great little vacuum!! I am 66, female, 120 pounds, and this thing is light and easy to maneuver. It works well on bare floors as well as on my pretty thick carpet. It is lightweight, compact standing in the closet, and the attachments all live right on the vacuum so no looking for them in drawers and no having to store (and purchase) bags! Its obviously made of pretty cheap plastic, which is probably why its so cheap - because the vacuum power and actual job it does are as good as my old one - AND, as I said at the beginning, even though my old one was expensive and didnt feel or look cheap, it broke and became unusable after I dropped it... so... Im happy so far. It works great and is convenient, so, I would recommend giving it a try. In the end, I just didnt see any reason to pay more.

So, I ordered a black and decker vacuum off of Amazon 9 months ago and it just turned off in the middle of vacuuming one day and decided to be done working. We have 2 big dogs and vacuum every other day if not daily. So, we cannot go without one. We used to get a vacuum at Walmart that would last quite a while, but I was looking for something less than $80 and maybe something we would like better and that is what led me to the black and decker. Since that one took a crap, I came on here to find something with better reviews and such. I came across this Eureka pretty quick and was quickly drawn to the over 7,000 reviews and the fact that it is lightweight and has an XL dust cup. After reading about the product and the reviews, I decided since it was on a great sale to go for it. We have had it only a few days so far, but it works like a champ. The pros for me are that it is very lightweight. I weighed the Eureka and my old one and there was just a 1 pound difference. The Eureka weighs about 11 pounds. I like that because I carry this up and down stairs to vacuum them and I can easily manage holding this. This sits higher so it is comfortable when pushing around. I like that it has the option to change from bare floor up to full carpet. One of the best parts is the XL dust cup. I showed a picture comparing my old one to this one and the size difference is huge. I love not having to empty it in the middle of vacuuming. While it is convenient to have the handle double as a wand extender, this was the one con I have found so far. When I vacuum using the wand, I like to hold the handle and pull the vacuum around with me and with the handle being in use that doesnt work well. Of course this is just a preference of mine. With all the vacuums we have had over the years we actually have some wand extenders we have fixed together and we just use that so we arent overly bending over. I do wish the cord length was a bit longer. Of course that is just me being lazy and not wanting to change outlets often but when vacuuming the whole house, that is going to happen. When we got our old one, the cord was shorter than we were used to and had to get used to moving it a lot. While the Eureka can go a little further than our old one, it isnt much further. I still have to move outlets as much as before. I feel that it picks up things well both with the wand and being pushed around. It is easy to empty the dust cup and the filter is easy to get to and wash. I also dont feel it is extremely loud as I did read in some reviews. It sounds just as loud as any other vacuum I have ran before. So far I am pleased with my purchase and hoping to get some longevity out of it.

Works way better than my more expensive vacuum cleaner did. Why spend all that money?
