This stuff really works as advertised. After removing the rust from something I save the left over liquid and use it again. I do not know how long you can do this but it seems to work a least once. I restore primitive American tools and this stuff is an asset to safely remove rust without the grinding and buffing that is so time consuming. Perfect for hard to reach areas.

The stuff works great, just need to have some patience with it. The black coating at the end of the process is normal as part of the chemical process its performing. You can mitigate the black coating by removing the item from the solution and rinsing it every few hours. You can reuse the solution until the solution itself turns black.

soak 24 hours and rust is GONE! I mean GONE! Tools I never thought it would come off of looked like new!!

My husband used this on a rusted sword and it worked beautifully. It took a couple of tries to get all of it but I think thats because of the size of the sword. Definitely recommend this.

Have used Evapo-Rust before and only the price has inhibited me in the past, as most of my projects were trivial and could be finished by other methods. It is a safe, chelation process specific to iron oxide and it works very well effortlessly. I have a container filled with it and drop small items in the solution when I encounter rusty tool bits and parts. It leaves a gummy residue that needs to be rinsed off, but it is very effective. It remains effective even after it darkens and looks spent. Not my only rust treatment method but certainly the easiest and safest.

This stuff is awesome. a man gave me a bucket of rusty tools. I used this product on them. Just poured it in a bucket dropped in tools. next day no rust. just wiped them off and placed them with my other tools. I had to use at least 4 times because of the amount of tools I had to clean. Worked great every time. Did not hurt rubber and plastic handles. Also frozen tools loosen up. Love this stuff. If you got rust you will love it too.

I cant explain why this stuff works but it does. Ive used it several times to remove surface rust from bolts/screws. I left them soaking 24-48 hours and impressed with how they came out.

Id give this ten stars if I could. After reading the negative reviews I decided to give it a chance anyway because its non toxic. I used it on a motorcycle gas tank that was rusty inside (Honda mb5). Filled it up, left it 24hrs and filtered the stuff as I dumped it out and it got a ton of junk. I was satisfied with the results, but you cant really see all that well inside a gas tank opening so the true effect was still unknown to me. Just so happened I have a Honda moped Im working on at the same time. The engine was siezed hard, and when I pulled it apart the crank shaft was totally rusty. I decided to test the solution on the crank. In the pictures the one of the rusty crank looks like grease. Thats only because of the penetrating oil sprayed in to free up the engine. It is solid scaled rust that could not be wire brushed off. I placed in the solution that had previously been used for the motorcycle gas tank overnight..thats right used solution. Today when I checked it I am absolutely amazed the results. I cannot believe someone created a water based non toxic environmentally safe solution that can achieve these results. No Im not paid, no I didnt get any free product, I am just reviewing because of the fantastic results. Very easy to see in the pictures how deep tge crankshaft was suspended in this liquid and the part cleaned off was by far the worst. 10 stars

Wonderful product for restoring metal. I use this on old motorcycle fuel tanks and it does a great job getting them cleaned up and sealed more of a sealer than a cleaner but does a great job.

Can take hours or overnight, but it works well, and seems much less caustic/toxic than the traditional rust removers. Can use it without gloves
