Greater than one weekI finally bought a set of Polychromos colored pencils, and they are lovely. They lay down color so soft and smooth, they are a pleasure to color with. My only complaint if you can call it that, is that they require a lot of sharpening as they are so soft and the point wears down quickly

> 3 dayI am in love with these pencils. they are the best pencils that I have used ever. They are more than worth the price. I prefer these pencils as they dont wear down quickly and the fact that you dont need to sharpen them too much, they hold their points longer. I had bought the Prisma colour verithins just to try those out, and I was disappointed as they break very easily even though those are to be of a harder lead, but these Faber castells are awesome. I had tried them out singularly, and then decided to buy the 120 set as I wanted to get all the colours. I do not regret my purchase. The colors are varied and very saturated. You dont need a lot to get full coverage, especially in colouring books, which is my main use for them. The leads are thick and are very easy to sharpen to a nice sharp point. They are creamy and smooth and so easy to blend with other colours. I had no problem blending the colours together to get a nice mix down. You get three trays of colours in the tin. All in all my best purchase ever.

> 3 dayI am not an artist by any means, just a wanna be/wish I was. I decided to go all out for these because I love color. And recently I love adult coloring books. I have been using a cheap (under $30 for 72 colored pencils) set for a couple of weeks and really enjoyed everything about coloring except for the pencils. So now I have these and I love them. They are very rich, the color just floats out of them. So far I have tried two blending pencils with them (prismacolor and one by Faber Castell), and also baby oil. I hate the smell of baby oil so I have ordered some gamsol, as I love the look of the color when it is blended with the baby oil (and I know it will look at least as good with the gamsol.) Anyway, I know really wonderful artists use these pencils, and I may never be one of those.....at least I can enjoy good tools!

> 3 dayI liked it , but it is way expensive. I actually bought it for 7yr old my daughter, she is very much into art. The lead doesn’t break.

> 3 dayI really love these pencils. They are my very favorite brand of wax based colored pencils and work very well together with the harder oil based Pablo pencils, and the Museum Aquarelles, also made by Caran dAche. The name luminance aptly describes these pencils, as anything colored with them seem to look illuminated from within, rather than leaving a flattened out look that harder tipped pencils can sometimes leave. I like to use my Luminance for most of my color blocking, and then the Pablos to finish filling in the tooth of the paper in selective areas, then a final burnish with their blender pencil. They also allow you to create a really beautiful, natural look by using the Aquarelles for your first few layers (which provide a very lovely soft matte finish), then laying down the final layers of color with the Luminance, which is a particularly beautiful combination. The box is so beautifully designed to protect each pencil, it is such a pleasure to hold them in your hands and color with them. Each color has its own recipe for the binder to insure that every pencil has the same hardness, the company never uses cheap fillers, the pigments are sourced exclusively from Germany and Switzerland, and they are particular known for their range of neutral colors (perfect for portraits, landscapes etc.)

> 3 dayThese are pretty impressive--and should be at the price. I hate to admit how much I spent to color in books but I love these. I imagine if you are a real artist youll have your own opinions but I think these are highly valued by experienced folks. The colors are vibrant and its a joy to have so many. I have been able to keep them in the trays in the box, something I was not able to do with other brands that came in a box--and its because each tray has side handles to lift the tray in and out. You do have to master the art of tapping the bottom of each pencil just right so it pops up and out but its easier for me to see and choose colors when theyre laying flat in order and not in pencil holder. They give me a lot of joy to use.

Greater than one weekGreat price for this very high quality made pencil. Its oil based which I like a lot. Holds a sharp tip, doesnt wear down as fast as wax based pencils do. Colors are very vibrant. So if you are looking for a professional high quality pencil, this is for you. I plan on saving up to get the whole set of 120. This product is definitely worth your cash.
