> 3 dayI thought it was easy. Just destroyed my iPad in the process of doing this. Wish I had spent the $159 to have a pro do it. Now I need to spend $600 for a new one. Its no so much the parts, but the instructions. Anyway, now I have aa huge mess, shattered glass everywhere and a cracked LED screen as well.

> 3 dayThere were no instructions, but several videos on Youtube. You need to wear safety goggles when removing a cracked screen. I also recommend wearing thin rubber gloves to keep the tiny glass pieces from getting on your fingers. Most of the removal was tedious, but I took my time and made sure all the glue was removed. I used acetone to clean everything. The main issue was getting the new glass to fit right. You have to remove the adhesive from the connectors and fold them over for the glass to fit flush. Apparently, the contacts must line up just right with the glass for it to work properly. I tried several times and could not get it to work. Also the adhesive is pretty weak and didnt stick very well. After several attempts to line things up and , press in the glass and then remove again, I gave up and ordered from iFixit. It was about $25 more without the tools and it worked great. The adhesive from iFixit was much stronger and you have to be careful when installing because it was very sticky.

Greater than one weekMy kit didn’t come with instructions but after looking them up on YouTube i found plenty of videos showing the process. Took me about an hour to remove the broken screen and apply the new one but so worth it. I bought a case with a screen protector on it and I had to remove that as it was making the new screen trip and have a lot of blind spots. Once I removed it, tablet screen worked perfectly. Worth the money.

> 3 dayI had lots of trouble initially, but after taking of the screen and reconnecting wires multiple times I got it to work. Quality is okay and it’s overall okay.

> 3 dayJust finished installing this for a customer. Ive done about 4 ipads now and this was the smoothest. Great kit. Comes with all the tools you need and thankfully its got adhesive pre-installed. Advice to anyone doing this, especially on a shattered screen like what I had: TAKE YOUR TIME, use heat OFTEN. The very second the adhesive feels like its giving resistance bake it again with your hair dryer or heat gun. The original adhesive is entirely heat activated. you will 99% need to use the original home button so just trash the one that comes with the kit unless its your only option due to damage. Would definitely recommend this kit to anyone wanting to try to fix their ipad themselves.
