I had high hopes for this digitizer from the decent reviews, but after giving it four tries (yes I returned three for replacement before giving up), I have concluded that these digitizers are terrible. First two developed dead spots over 80%+ off the screen within a week, not to mention the home button pushing through to where it became useless, the third was some other obviously disappointed customer’s return that was completely missing the homer button and had adhesive smeared all over it, and the fourth is glitching the iPad power causing it to constantly shut on and off. The search continues for a decent replacement digitizer.

Easy to replace and sticks just fine

If only this actually sat flat on the bezel, this would be a great value. Where the wires come out, there was an extra flap that did not allow the screen to sit flat on the bezel, so there is a visibly noticeable gap in the screen along the righthand side. This also produces a little bit of light bleed along that side of the iPad as well. Even worse I emailed the seller and got absolutely no response!!

Update: the replacement that was sent to me was much bette. No dead spots. The connection pieces also seem to fit better. Well the home button and screen go on easy. However there are dead spots on the digitizer. Have to spots that are in areas that are needed for my son to use his iPad for most games. In both top corners there are areas that do not have any response. Ended up being a waste of time and money. I’m going to reach out to the seller, maybe it was a dud.

Installation was typical, but more and more dead spots on the digitizer appeared over time. Some of the dead spots would respond to harder presses, but not all. Its only been a couple months. I would have expected this to last longer than that

I bought this for my son’s ipad. It was the first time ever replacing a screen on my own and it was actually very easy. Only down side(which really isn’t too bad) to this kit is that the start button is a little harder to click, you have to push down a little harder than the original and the adhesion isn’t as strong but over all it’s awesome.

Do not waste your money! The screen would not lay flat, causing it to pop up from the frame. The tape is an absolute JOKE!!!!

It would probably be good if you already know your home button won’t be able to be transfered. Most common is when you cut the flex cable when trying to open the cracked screen and then you will loose the Touch ID. But if you manage to open it without damaging anything but the cracked screen, this screen won’t work for you as it is ticker than the OEM version, so when trying to transfer your original home button, it won’t fit due thickness. Other diferent replacements that don’t include a home button fit perfectly, and are cheaper. This one has lots of reviews, so it’s easy to fall for it. Also, not sure what they mean by including the middle bezel, as it doesn’t have it like the OEM (expected) but other screens version do have a bezel. This bezel is important to block unwanted touch events when your fingers drags to the outside of the screen. Some people add a thin layer of tape on the back for screen replacements that dont have that bezel, like this product. Or maybe I’m confusing with other part of this product on what they mean by that description. It does have glue under the white tape, but is highly recommended to get a touch glue B7000, so it can be glued correctly. Touch is good, you can’t differentiate from OEM. It’s easy to think the screen has dead spots, but most likely the connections are not in place correctly, you have to disconnect and connect until a click can be notice. Overall, if it would have same thickness as OEM, it would be a great option.
