    I used the Smart Life App and under Electrician choose power Strip wifi. Alexa picked it right up and I can now easily turn the surge protector on or off via a schedule or voice.

    When my old manual timer that I used at my massage office to turn on my towel warmer finally died , I looked into getting one that worked remotely. For under $10 . FRANKEVER Mini Smart Plug, works perfectly! Now As long as I already have wet towels in the warmer, all I have to do is open the App on my phone and press the start button and voila, hot towels for my loyal customers. There’s even a schedule that you can set up for use. Hey, it’s just made my life a whole lot simpler. No more extra trips to the office, wasting time and gas. One con is the instructions are micro minuscule. ( Think Apple I-phone) So some sort of magnifying device is needed to read instructions. Once over the hurdle, it works wonderfully!

    The only reason I purchased this item was for use with my Google Home. Frakever is not an option in the Google Home app. Also, there were no instructions so I had to google around to figure out you have to download the BrightFun app for setup.

    The executive overview: DO like: Theyre really cheap and they work great after theyre set up. DONT like: The setup process is convoluted. Also you have to give an email address during setup. The documentation that is included with the device is outdated and shows an old version of the Google Home app. The app has had significant changes since the documentation was made so the UI path is different. If you have a mixed mode wifi access point (2.4GHz and 5GHz at the same time with the same SSID) or your AP is only 5GHz, youll need to purchase and set up a seperate wifi access point for these plugs. Also I dont know what the other reviewers are talking about when they mention charging their phones via these plugs because they do not have USB ports. I suspect that the merchant ninja swapped the product and description on this product listing to a newer model without the charging port.

Smart Life App Connection Steps

Step 1: Scan the QR code in User Manual, sign up/in your Smart Life account.

Step 2: Select "+" icon and "Electrical outlet"

Step 3: Tap "Confirm indicator rapidly blink" and enter your home Wi-Fi Password.

Step 4: Wait for it connecting successfully.

The frequency needs to be set to 2.4GHz in order to connect to the smart plug successfully.

Why failed to add device

1. Please check whether device is powered on;

2. Whether phone is connected via WiFi;

3. Notice Each time to add device, reset WiFi to get device ready for configuration and make sure router is working properly.

4. Check routers or related: If router is dual-band router,select 2.4G network and add device. You also need to enable router"s broadcasting function.

Set up wireless router: Set encryption method as WPA2-PSK and authorization type as AES, or set both as auto.

5.To stay strong WiFi signal, please keep device and router within certain distance.

6.Whether connected devices have reached the maximum number of router "s connections. If so, please try by turning off the WiFi connection of some device.

7.Router"s wireless MAC filtering function is enabled. Remove the device from the filter list and make sure that router is not prohibiting device from connection.
