> 24 hourIm revising my original meh review after using the gaffer tape a few times. The hood on my car would not lock down after checking the oil so I used 2 (two) 6 inch strips of this tape to hold the hood down until I could drive the 20 highway miles to my mechanic, in the rain. And after getting there it peeled off easily and I could have reused it again if I had wanted. The second time was a test. I taped one end of a 2X4 to my workbench using gaffer tape and gorilla brand tape. About 6 feet of the 2X4 extended in to space. After leaving for the night the gaffer taped board was still in place and not even sagging. The gorilla taped board was resting on the ground. Further, the gorilla tape left a glue residue while the gaffer tape peeled off clean. I give it 4 stars because I still think its about twice as expensive as it should be. Good product, does what it says it will do. But there are lots of other tape products out there that are just as good or better, but at half the price. Gaffer tape sounds really cool but the reality is that great tape these days is not that hard to find. For instance, genuine commercial quality duct tape (forget the Duck crap) is easy to find at most big box stores and is half the price but twice the value. This is the stuff that commercial heating guys use to bond metal heating ducts together in the bowels of buildings, lasting for decades. Great technology but commonly available. Do your homework, forget the hype, save some money.

> 24 hourSo, I worked for many years as a production assistant on expensive sets. Gaffers tape (old skool was black, white, and gray—now they have a rainbow of colors) is used for everything. In the music industry (concert stage building -- yeah, I did the Rolling Stones, KISS, etc.) they call if Gaff Tape. Same thing. The Gaffer is the chief electrician or lighting tech on set. The tape is named after their job position, but all member of the crew use it. It is like a super masking tape, or Duck/duct tape that is far less sticky, easy to pull off, but stronger than masking tape. It is also known as cloth tape. So, this is one of the go-to brands we would use on set. There are others, but this tape is really a specialty item (have you seen how much this crap costs?!!), and you want to get it from the companies that specialize in this kind of stuff. This is my favorite brand, as I know it will work, it will stick, it tears nicely, and the quality is always 100%. I have had the unfortunate experience of cheap gaffers tape before. You get what you pay for. There are a few other brands (I wont list them here) that are just as good, but if you are looking at THIS PRODUCT, just buy it and you will not be disappointed. This is the real stuff that real movie, television, and tv commercial professionals use on set in Hollywood and all over the world. Black, gray, and white: White for things like labelling (write on them with black Sharpie); gray to blend in (floor use), and black to NOT reflect light that ends up screwing up your lighting. Also, black is the most common color, so stock up on extra of that.

> 24 hourThe last brand I had felt cheap and didnt adhere quite so well. This brand feels much more ruggedly built and has better adhesion. Id say it was worth the slight extra cost. Ill be ordering this brand from now on.

> 24 hourIts very rare these days you come by a product that arrives at your doorstep as advertised. I constantly find retailers pushing their darndest for sales while the quality of their product decreases. This product not only exceeded my expectation, but I was personally greeted by the owners making sure all was up to my expectation. Not like all other retailers where an automated email is sent by the owner as a standard to showcase their sincere customer support. I was so impressed by this product, with only the slightest touch of residue which you dont even feel on your hands moments later, made my project organizing audio cables, turn into a hunt through my house searching for anything that needed tape! I have to laugh at myself when I say that, but my digression was completely subconscious as my mind new I was holding something of prime importance and ushered me to go and make use of it. So I did which I never do, much lol right now, and took the time to email their tha you email back. Not only did I receive a timely response from one of the owners, but they gave me a solid discount on my next purchase. Never have I been overly satisfied with a product and then Rewarded. My only regret is that I dont need tape on a day to day basis and that this company is not a household name. This is a family who clearly takes pride in what they do and at the same time understands the importance of looking out for their customers. Two traits which are basically extinct in this country. If you are contemplating an alternative, hopefully this review makes your decision a no brainier. Their product cant be beaten, and if it can be matched, their customer service catapults them over the edge by a landslide. This is the type of old school work ethic that will keep this country honest and prosperous. Hats off to this family. -Jon Just want to make clear I was not paid or compensated in anyway to write this review.

> 24 hourI love this tape! It sticks well and when removed leaves no residue. I use it for all kinds of projects, not just taping to the floor.
