> 3 dayThis is a great device once you get the hang of it. We used it on a 63 mile canoe trek and it was very handy. Take some time to learn how to use it thoroughly before taking it on an adventure as there are some nuances to get used to.

> 3 dayStarted with a Spot and have and will upgrade every time Inreach/Garmin comes up with a new product. I’ve been where there was no service of any kind and chatted with friends. Having the security of knowing I can always call for help is, well.......the single most important thing to me. If your idea of adventure is watching football on Sunday, you probably don’t need this but if you get out and hunt or fish or hike or explore or go to Kansas you probably need this piece of equipment

> 3 dayI purchased this item primarily as an emergency communicater since I am 80 years old and still active in the outdoors. I thought it would have a GO TO feature on it, but doesnt.

> 3 dayThis worked exactly as it was supposed to, but we returned it and purchased a satellite phone. We purchased this as an backup for an catastrophic emergency for wilderness canoe trips. However, the texting on this device would have been impossible under stressful circumstances. You have to use the arrow keys and the ok button in order to choose each letter while texting and the screen would require old eyes to use glasses. The price was more attractive than the sat phone, but being able to actually speak with a person in an emergency is worth the extra $$$. This device does have a number of other features, but its purpose for us was intended only for the emergency situation.

> 3 dayGreat tool, I have been starting with the very first InReach for Mobile back in 2013, then used the InReach SE and now the Inreach Explorer+. Its the perfectly reliable outdoor communication and rescue tool. Any mountainbiker, windsurfer, kiteboarder, sailor, expedition people etc should have one. There are more enhanced dataplans available by protegear.com with a dedicated email address for your InReach and some smartsafety features with deadmans switch.
