> 3 daySo our bass player is also the sound/lighting person for live performances and he likes this cable. Hes very particular about equipment, so if he says its great, thats high props. Also, he hooked it up for some online collabs and what a difference in internet speed and lack of latency as opposed to using wifi or lesser cable hookup with our cable connection.

> 3 dayI love the connectors on the ends of the cable. But to use unmodified you do need EtherCon tools on both ends. In a pinch you can unscrew the end and there is a standard RJ45 connector inside. If you do this you need to be careful because there is a little over an inch of exposed wiring outside the cable sheath, so it is not recommended. I checked the pinout. It is standard the CAT protocol. Very good quality cable. As I get more EtherCon equipment I will get more of this cable.

> 3 dayI have several GearIT cables and they have all be good quality - this one is no exception. The cable is very heavy with a good sheathing on it. The connector hoods are aluminum and the RJ45 itself is shielded. Understand these are EtherCON connectors for pro-audio applications. They arent intended for typical ethernet runs, although you can use them for that with some adjustments. The hoods are removable in this case, but they arent really intended and are probably overkill for home use.

> 3 dayGearIT CAT6 Ethernet Cable, EtherCON-Compatible RJ45 Connectors for Pro Audio, Aluminum Shielded, Oxygen Free Copper - 15 ft. - Black This a cable for carrying audio over ethernet for audio patch boxes etc. that are EtherCon compatible (audio over ethernet). With the correct equipment you can carry 4 channels of audio over Ethernet Cat6 cables. This cable is very well made and very robust. The cable core is a very heavy gage. and has serviceable metal ends. The connectors of EtherCon look like an XLR with an ethernet connection inside, instead of three pins. This gives a very robust connection for compatible floor boxes etc. Audio over Ethernet is a huge leap forward and a great way to run 4 channel audio over a distance. These cables are top notch, and work exactly as they should. This is absolutely an all pro cable. I find etherCon very exciting and have 2 sets of floor boxes I use regularly with this cable. perfect for studio or stage. Great for bands, studios, and DJays. I am very grateful to have these cables in my studio.

> 3 dayGeneric Ethernet cable, but well made and sturdy. Flexible insulation cover allows cables to be routed easily. Recommended

Reviews and Information
> 3 dayI was initially put off by how rigid the cable was, but looking inside explained it. This Ethercon cable is sturdy. It has a center divider core separating the pairs, a foil shield, then a copper shield, then the plastic cable jacket, and then over that another more rubbery jacket. That means it does have a fair bit of coil memory and takes a little work to get it to lie flat in a corner, but it should stand up to a lot. The shells hold well in sockets, and electrically it checks out in terms of pinout.

> 3 dayI tested with stereo audio and mic signals over a TRS to ethercon adaptor. I did not observe issues with signals interfering with each other or with outside signal interference. The cable latched in and ejected from the adaptor units as expected with the press of a release button. Appears to be a fairly heavy duty cable. I did not notice any problems or issues with it and dont really see anything that would need changes either.

> 3 dayGreat addition to the GearIT 4 channel extender. It locks into the RJ45 port over just the standard ethernet cable simply clipping in with the tab. Basically this provides an extra layer of locking your cables in so that you have one less thing to worry about. The cable itself seem rugged and well made with the cable sheathing looking similar to that of my XLR cables. Immediately upon replacing my regular cat6 cable, I realized it doesnt kink or coil which makes it another plus over standard cabling.
